Nice common areas on deck - appreciated the stage area in a central spot that was consistent with music and entertainment throughout sea days and in the afternoons as cruisers were returning to the ship.

We just recently completed on 16th cruise since August of 2001, with this one being our 5th repositioning cruise...which we find very relaxing and a great bargain. We flew to Miami and stayed in the Embassy Suites prior to embarkation - which is a breeze since we now book suites on NCL ships because of the really great perks. Left the hotel at 11:00 am and were eating lunch in Cagney's by noon. ...

NCLs Jewel is a jewel

THE TRANSATLANTIC was GREAT. We started with daytime temperatures of 80 degrees in Miami and finished at 65 degrees in Dover. That was a drop of about 1 degree a day over the 12 day cruise. The seas were calm to moderate with only one overnight of roughness. However, the 25 MPH wind from the ship's movement into a primarily angled wind across the bow, made outdoor activity (sun bathing) ...

I'm a 29yr old male who chose this cruise and brought my girlfriend as well as went with another couple of the same age.  The price was right (~$750pp) for a balcony which was then upgraded to a mini-suite due to additional reductions in price.  No matter what is said below - you can not beat the pricing of this cruise; inside cabins went for as low as $339pp.I booked online and while they were ...

The Norwegian Jewel is quite colorful. We were greeted with champagne and orange juice upon arrival. It was next to impossible to find a seat in the buffet - this was a problem throughout the cruise. We preferred sitting in Mama's Kitchen where there was always available tables during the buffet. There were hardly any lines at the buffet, which was really impressive. On many past cruises you would ...

A Jewel of a Cruise!

This was a fantastic cruise! It was our third trans-Atlantic, with 2 of them on the Norwegian Jewel. With 6 days at sea, we had plenty of time to explore the ship again, and to relax. The wait-staff in The Tsar's Palace, the stateroom attendants, the Reception Desk staff and all other crew members and staff were fantastic, going the extra mile for us. We have sailed the Caribbean and the ...

The Jewel did not appear to have comfortable places to sit & read - a frequent activity of transatlantic cruisers. Even the library chairs were uncomfortable.  With the very cool , windy weather, lounging on the pool deck was not an option. The entertainment was good , as well as the food in Tsar's Palace(free) restaurant. Freestyle dining made it possible to catch the shows twice, which we ...

What a rush it was getting on the ship in Miami, I never even saw so many people in one place on the ship even! It was disorganized and I longed to have at least had a Romance Suite (instead had a balcony room) just to avoid the horrendous line, it was so long it went out the door. We got on about 1:30 and rushed to eat in the Tsars Palace main dining room for lunch instead of the buffet. I was ...

My husband and I are in our late fifty's and were traveling with another couple. We have been on sixteen cruises, mostly Celebrity and Princess, and enjoy two week cruises with several sea days. We were a bit skeptical about going on an NCL cruise, because we had done one of their Hawaiian cruises several years ago, and said we would never use them again. We decided to give them another try and ...

Norwegian Jewel - Trans-Atlantic

Embarkation from Miami was in the tent but not too awful, having read other reviews I was expecting chaos and was not disappointed. The shore staff were very professional. My luggage was in my cabin within 2 hours and the cabin stewards both checked in with me within minutes of my arrival. The cabin was much more spacious than I was expecting and the items I had preordered were in my cabin. The ...

We were on the trans-Atlantic Norwegian Jewel repositioning cruise. We were a bit apprehensive about the size of the ship because we're partial to smaller ships, but found we enjoyed the experience. The ship was attractive and comfortable and the staff was unfailingly polite, friendly and helpful. Our room stewards took good care of us and we were enthralled w/ the nightly towel animals, although ...
