"There are "up-charges" offered on the ship such as photos, specialty restaurants (such as more premium food incurring $25 charges above and beyond the dining package cost) but you really do not have to do any of these tings to get by with a good time on the cruise. The elevators are very slow, and usually packed with people, so its a good ship to get a workout and use the stairs...."Read More
We just got off the Norwegian Joy after a 7 day Caribbean cruise to Honduras, Belize, Caya Maya, and Cozumel.. The vacation was awesome, and the food was excellent. My brother has trouble walking long distances and they went out of their way to make our embarking and departing easier for us. They put us in the shorter lines and mobility lines.
I would like to give a special thanks to the best ...
This was my first cruise, and I am so happy that I was able to go on one. The organization and skill of employees and staff was fantastic. The staff was so friendly, in every department of the ship. The restaurants were nicely furnished, the staff was so accommodating, and the food was outstanding. The events that were scheduled were professionally done. I really enjoyed the show entitled ...
We sailed on the Norwegian Joy March 30th 2024. Overall excellent cruise.
The balcony room we had was very nice with the bed close to the sliding door to the balcony. All of the staff were excellent. We enjoyed the amount and variety of venues, restaurants and bars that the ship offered.
Pool area - two pools, one for adults and one for kids. Seems like both pools are too small for the ship ...
My wife and I had an amazing time on board the Norwegian Joy.
To start with, the workers at the pier were rude. The gentleman begged for a tip, and lied when he said he’d be bring our our suitcases to our room. When our bags did get to our room a big dent in one corner of my wife’s luggage. Be ready for cabs, hotel transportation and other ways for you to get to the terminal to have signs ...
We just did our first cruise this past week. The food, services, cleanliness, and attendees were wonderful. The only thing that we did not appreciate is how their employees were being exploited. I noticed fairly quickly that all the servers, attendees cools, housekeepers were from very poor countries. The only white faces who were part of the crew was the captain, entertainment, and onboarding. I ...
This was the first of many mother-daughter cruises I was going on with my daughter, and I can honestly say Hands-down, one of the worst experiences I ever had over. Over charged my cards multiple times. The food was horrible. Customer service was horrible, Staffs pick and choose who they want to help, food has no taste. When you ask questions they give you the run around. I will never ever take an ...
We chose Norwegian Joy because we'd been on another NCL cruise and enjoyed the experience. As Midwesterners, we wanted to escape the end of winter, so booked in md-March. The "Free at Sea" benefits made it attractive and affordable.
We felt we did great research--on Cruise Critic and other sites--and thought we could deal with the consistent negative comments about the crowding, bottlenecks, ...
Just a fyi avoid Norwegian. Just got off the Norwegian Joy and my group has cruised the adventure twice and a few oasis class cruises and even a sailing on the old majesty of the seas. We were excited because the joy wasn't built until 2017. Our other option was another cruise on the adventure the seas. Our group didn't want to go on the adventure of the seas because we've done it twice and it was ...
8TH CRUISEWITH NCL, 25TH CRUISE IN TOTAL
EMBARKATION: Time scheduled but easy enough went well and took about 1 hour in total
DEBARKATION: Not so good, you choose a time and color tag, they called our color, they herded us out of the ship through the main dining room. They actually put chairs up and had us weave through the middle like a maze. very poorly done. took about 1 hour not bad ...
Disappointed in NCL overall and the Joy. Cons: Free at Sea is the worst package of extras we have experienced in comparison to Princess, HAL and Celebrity. All of these cruise lines include premium coffee and unlimited Wi-Fi with their packages, NCL does not. 2. Public spaces overwhelmed by the number of passengers. 3. Service slow because of the number of passengers. 4. Not enough lounge chairs ...
