Our 16 day cruise from Miami to San Francisco spent 88% of the time at sea, not at the destinations Spending $800+ per day on fine dining is not my idea of an enjoyable cruise.
Destination Services were overpriced, poorly conceived and poorly organized.
Cuisine was excellent and service impeccable.
Cabins were small 216 sf and tight Bathrooms even tighter.
We were aboard Regatta, a ...
My wife and I are frequent cruisers and chose this cruise as an alternative to the all inclusive lines where we always are charged for something we don't take part in. We also used this cruise to determine if we wanted to hold or cancel a 45 day trip on this ship next year out of New Zealand & the South Pacific.
Our embarkation in Miami was swift and without incident. Our first port out of ...
t: Left Miami with huge expectations. Boring tour of Havana. After leaving Havana we were soon informed about engine problems that would cancel our Cartagena shore excursion. The one excursion I was truly looking forward to. Went thru the canal and on to Costa Rica. Did a walk in a cloud forest where we saw one bird and one poison is frog. Had two folks who never should have been on the ...
Just an OK cruise with a few disappointments . . . we have sailed on Oceania before, this cruise one of our least favorite. Panama Canal from Miami to San Francisco. We did get to Cuba which was fascinating to say the least. We arranged a private tour for the two of us all day . . . $65/pp. Museums, walks through town and ride in a 57 Chevy convertible. Great guide, provided lots of ...
Well the Owners Suite 8064 was fabulous. There were several bad reviews of these suites right under the Terrace Cafe on deck 9.. because of the tables and chairs scraping on the floor above but since the retrofit in 2014 they must have put some material under the Teak floors above to silence the noises.. We only heard something a very few times and was very unremarkable.
Crew was so gracious ...
We were a little suspect of Oceania since we had been inundated by marketing material since we booked our cruise - back in March. But we enjoyed it very much. The Regatta is the perfect sized ship - easy to get around, you didn't have to hike from one end to the other. We noticed many special features that other cruise lines don't have..... free water and sodas in your cabin; free water when you ...
This was our 7th Oceania cruise and 5th time on the Regatta. It was quite wonderful, as always and most of the ports were interesting.
The entertainment seems better now that NCL has taken over and the service is what we have come to expect with Oceania. We always take a taxi from the airport to the ship, as it is much less expensive.
We did an independent tour in Guatemala using 'Go With ...
We really looked forward to this cruise as our friends and family led us to believe once we went on Oceania we would never go back to Celebrity or Royal Caribbean where we had 25plus cruises. They told us of the elegance of service and the ambiance we would find and the excellent meals, etc. Apparently Norwegian cruise lines bought them since our friends told us of this.
Our experience was ...
As a younger cruiser you may find this cruise a bit sedate. Two of our more "active" excursions were cancelled due to lack of interest because most of the people on this cruise line are older. This is my third Oceania cruise and I know this, but this is the first time it's gotten in the way of my enjoyment. So just be aware that if you wanted to do something like hike a volcano or kayak the ocean ...
We began this cruise at Miami, the embarkation procedures went very smoothly, but it seems odd to let people board at noon knowing full well their staterooms are two hours away from being ready, why not hold boarding.
This was my third cruise, though first on a small ship. Probably my last on this line.
First, given that it was the holiday cruise Chritmas decorations were Spartan at best, ...
