Perfect winter get away.
"Food good, but not the choice or quality of royal Caribbean or celebrity. The private island would have been lovely if the weather was good, but sadly it was cool and windy - but the staff put in great effort with the food on land...."Read More

Booked by family, they were 11 of us. Great experience for a first time. Staff are welcoming and are always willing to help, but some struggled with English. Stop in Khasaab from Dubai then Muscat, gives you a chance to see Oman, although its very empty and boring. I wish is the cruise stopped at 6am and leaves next day 6am because, a 6am to 6pm is not enough time to see a city. Prices need to be ...

We have been on several cruises in the Caribbean,Middle East and Asia. We chose this Cruise because we were going to Dubai anyway. We have sailed with MSC before. The choices out of Dubai are limited so having booked this and having read the reviews I was honestly not expecting much. However we have been so pleasantly surprised. The food has been excellent and the staff among the ...

Chose due the location- winter sun, price and itinerary. Older ship but very well maintained. Staff lovely, hard working and attentive. Food good, but not the choice or quality of royal Caribbean or celebrity. Quality drinks package choice of premium spirits and European beers. Ports of call were interesting and we had plenty of time in port to explore. The private island would ...

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Opera

We just finished a 7-day Mediterranean cruise onboard MSC Opera. This was our sixth cruises overall (three on Princess and one on Carnival) and second on MSC since last December. Embarkment: Easiest of all cruises. We were scheduled to board Opera at 1 pm in Barcelona, but arrived at the terminal around 12 pm. There were about a dozen people lining up and we got onto the ship in no more than 10 ...

This was our 8th MSC cruise and we actually booked our next one while on board. That being said, this ship needs some work. The dining room chairs were always falling apart. The shower drain didn't drain well. AND this was wasn't up to the MSC standard we have become accustomed to. There are no shrimp cocktails on the menu at dinner. When asked, we got the standard answer of "THIS IS A ...

Chose this cruise as it was a bargain. 2 x nights in Venice, 5 x day med cruise, 1 x night in Genoa. We had obstructed outside cabin. Opera is a very clean and tidy ship with an excellent crew. We purchased a drink package that was 29 euros plus service charge per night. I think we broke even and possibly drunk more than we would have done if we had just paid for drinks as we went. The ...

Our table was 671 and they always make sure we had that table right by the window and our waiter Mr. Kumar was amazing and he spoiled us like we have never been spoiled before. Pankaj Kumar, we will never forget you The food was amazing our rooms were perfect the balcony could use a little bit more space but otherwise it was fantastic. But the entertainment wasn’t Las Vegas style it was ...

First impression on entering the ship and speaking to customer service we didn't think we would enjoy, as we had booked a drink package and disappointingly they had no southern comfort. This is our 8th cruise and first ship not to supply this. That being said if customer service would have apologised and at least tried to find an alternative we would have been a tad happier. Customer service ...

I am writing this review although our cruise did not go as planned. It has been widely reported in the papers about the MSC Opera accident in Venice. An extremely unfortunate event due to a mechanical failure. That being said, I would like to commend MSC and it’s Opera staff for working so hard to assist the passengers and create a positive atmosphere. Laura at reception was instrumental in ...

We chose this cruise because of the great ports and we were not disappointed! We loved every place we went and had beautiful weather. We got to Venice several days in advance and took a Viator tour to the Dolmites the day before the cruise. It was incredible and I'd recommend it to anyone who has extra time in Venice and has been to Venice before. We stayed at the Hotel Papadopoli, which was very ...
