Ten years ago, we went on Carnival Pride and I swore never again. We said, let's give them another try.
Our stateroom attendant was excellent.
Our first two mdr waiters were awful
No personality, food served warm, once they never asked if we wanted drinks, one of the tables had a great View of the station where they scraped the finished plates...
We finally found a table where ...
This was our 7th cruise with Carnival. First time cruising out of New York. Also our first time visiting New York. We stayed 2 nights prior to the cruise, at the Comfort Inn Midtown. The hotel is only about 1-1/2 blocks from the port so it was very easy walking to the ship on embarkation day. The cruise port is not as big as the ports in Florida so it was a bit more crowded, but overall, ...
We wanted to do something different for the holidays but after being a bit disappointed by the high passenger loads and reduced staffing and services on some recent cruises, our expectations were a bit muted. Also we were not enthused about flying during such a busy time of year.
As it turned out, the QM2's cruise to the Caribbean over Christmas and New Years was a very pleasant surprise. We ...
This was my 5th on QM2 over the last 10 years. I've travelled QG once, PG 3 times and Brittania once. This trip was PG.
I'm a spa relaxer type cruiser. The spa, now run by Morell was, frankly, filthy. the hydrotherapy oil crusting in dirt all around the perimeter. The showers dirty, foot baths and ice maker inoperable, main steam room dirty and Finnish Sauna unlit. I was literally shocked. I ...
I wanted to shake the holiday season up, given that there are only so many years of turkey, christmas trees, & family drama left in me, so I booked this cruise. It ended up as a solo cruise (don't ask), & I found myself in spa balcony room. Here's my impressions (disclaimer: this was my 4th NCL cruise), & I hope you find them helpful, if not entertaining:
CABIN: Solid. A/C was kind of ...
I have not been on many vacations in my life, so I was quite excited for a 12-day Christmas cruise. I don’t enjoy being away from home for very long, so I was a little unsure of how the cruise would be. My family insisted it would be fun, making promises of delicious food, fun activities, and as much diet soda I could want. Unfortunately, they were very, very wrong and what followed were 12 days ...
We did a 12 day holiday cruise from NYC to the Caribbean on the Getaway, our second time on this ship. First let me say that we are so very grateful for the folks working over the holidays so we could take a vacation.
The good: the Port of NY has the embarkation process down. We registered for an 11 a.m. time, showed up on time and were moved through all lines quickly and smoothly. Once we had ...
we wanted to something different that's why we picked this cruise. Started off bad when norwegian said they don't price match. The food was basic not many new option for a 12 days cruise. The entertainment was boring and the cruise director thought he was a celebrity. Sold out cruise , only open their nightclub Bliss for after party for new year for 4000+ guest. New years party in the cold , no ...
For perspective, over the past 20+ years, my wife and I have now been on 13 NCL cruises, each of 11-30 days length; we have also been on 17 Celebrity/RCCL cruises, also of the same duration. We were very much looking forward to our first cruise on the Prima because it is relatively new, and for the several positive reviews of its cabins, and of the Indulge Food Court experience, among others. In ...
NCL is definitely shifting the business model.. this ship was league's below in quality of spaces and services over previous NCL experiences (bliss, breakaway, spirit etc). Generally, the uplifts are extreme now.. general "complimentary" dining is much smaller and somewhat lowered quality. Perhaps 1/3 of ship is dedicated to Haven now and they visibly are dumbing down the included options in ...
