(9 a.m. GMT) -- Cruise Critic's UK Editors' Picks Awards 2018 have been revealed, with Celebrity Cruises' groundbreaking new ship, Celebrity Edge, scooping the award for "Best New Ship."

Crystal Cruises has won "Best Luxury Cruise Line," while Seabourn Ovation has picked up "Best New Luxury Ship."

In the river category, U by Uniworld's The A and The B have scooped "Best New River Ship."

Now in its tenth year, the annual UK Editors' Picks Awards are selected by a global panel of impartial cruise experts from Cruise Critic to celebrate the best ocean, river and luxury cruise lines across dozens of categories.

Celebrity Edge has been lauded by Cruise Critic's editors for its trailblazing design, with standout features including Infinite Verandahs -- cabins with a window that open up at the touch of a button to create a balcony -- and the Magic Carpet, which is suspended off the side of the ship and functions in different ways depending on its location and time of day.

In the Ocean category, Independence of the Seas has picked up "Best Ship Refurbishment," Hurtigruten has won "Best for Adventure" and Cunard has scooped "Best Cabins."

Other winners include Celebrity Cruises for "Best Dining," Marella Cruises for "Best Value for Money" and Royal Caribbean International for "Best Entertainment."

Adam Coulter, Cruise Critic UK's managing editor, said: "The cruise industry is experiencing a real boom at the moment and cruise lines are capitalising on this popularity by investing in fantastic new ships, well-thought out refurbishments and a host of amazing, new onboard innovations and destination itineraries to keep British holiday makers coming back for more.

"These awards combine our editors’ impartial cruise expertise, based on first-hand experiences and industry knowledge, to help travellers select the best cruise choice for them from an increasing number of options, which will include over 20 completely new ships from next year."

In the River category, Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection takes the prize for "Best River Cruise Line" for the third consecutive year. Viking River Cruises has picked up "Best Enrichment" and "Best Itineraries," while Riviera Travel has won "Best for Solo Travellers."

In the Luxury category winners include Silver Spirit for "Best Ship Refurbishment," Seabourn for "Best Service," Viking Ocean Cruises for "Best Spa" and Azamara for "Best Shore Excursions."
