(10.10 a.m. GMT) -- Royal Caribbean has launched a competition to recruit a Shore Explorer -- a three-week placement that involves taking photographs in far flung destinations and posting them to Instagram.
The lucky candidate will be paid £6,000 upon completion of a three-week trip that will involve capturing shore experiences in destinations including Alaska, Japan, Norway and Dubai and posting daily images to the social media platform.
The successful applicant must be an Instagram whizz, have an eye for stunning photography and be available to travel between May and August 2019 for three consecutive weeks.
The Shore Explorer will work closely with the line’s official Instagrammer-in-Chief, Russ Francis, to help inspire both social media users and Royal Caribbean’s future shore excursions programme.
A Royal Caribbean spokesperson said: "We’re looking for an adrenaline junkie who is not only hungry for adventure, but also has a unique ability to capture a moment and tell a story in a simple social media post.
"We already offer a huge amount of incredible, once-in-a-lifetime, on-land experiences as part of our cruise holidays - from zip wires and white water rafting, to walking on glaciers and hot air balloon rides. By launching this position, we’re hoping that the winning candidate will take our shore excursion programme to the next level."
The competition was inspired by a piece of research done by OnePoll, the aim of which was to uncover the millennial travel bucket list -- in which the Northern lights came out top.
To apply, candidates must tag @RoyalCaribbeanUK and #ShoreExplorer in an Instagram travel story, post or IGTV before 23:59 p.m. (GMT) on 1 March 2019.
The role is open to UK and Irish applicants over 21 years of age.
