(2:25 p.m. BST) -- Kids travelling on Marella Cruises' family ships will be met by Captain Mac, Melodie Mermaid and Miss Maintenance from this week, as the line rolls out its M Crew kids club.

Kids clubs on Marella Dream, Marella Celebration and Marella Discovery have been rebranded in line with Marella Explorer -- the first ship to debut M Crew in May 2018. Marella Discovery 2 will get the M Crew makeover later in 2019.

All young Marella passengers will receive a personalised pre-departure letter from the ship's captain that is included within an email detailing kids' activities onboard.

From mid-June, kids will also receive M Crew-branded activity packs and lanyards during check in, and a fun gift waiting for them in their cabin. The line is also offering M Crew-branded merchandise for sale onboard, such as toy characters and water bottles.

New M Crew activities include a colouring experience with kids able to bring their creations to life in 3D using an iPad and a treasure hunt that will take place around the ship.

Marella Explorer 2, which debuted in April 2019, will remain as the fleet's adults-only vessel.
