(8:30 a.m. EDT) -- Oceania Cruises will introduce a new spa this winter to replace the fleet's existing onboard Canyon Ranch spa. The addition of the Aquamar Spa + Vitality Center is part of the line's OceaniaNEXT initiative.

Aquamar Spa was created entirely by Oceania Cruises (rather than an outside spa company), inspired by guest feedback and the many benefits of travel. The program has multiple wellness pillars, focusing on spa treatments, fitness, enrichment and cuisine.

The spa's wellness services will include traditional and medi-spa treatments; its fitness center will offer complimentary exercise classes (such as yoga and Pilates), as well as personal training (for a fee). Healthy "Aquamar Vitality Cuisine" menu options will be added to main dining room menus. Aquamar's enrichment programming will be available onboard and ashore, with lifestyle seminars and Wellness Discovery Tours, shore excursions that are focused on different health topics, including reflexology, meditation and apitherapy (replacing Oceania's existing Canyon Ranch wellness tours).

"Our guests love balance -- they're active, they're leading rich and fulfilled lives. For them, wellness is not a pursuit, it's a lifestyle," said Bob Binder, president and chief executive officer for Oceania Cruises.

The Aquamar Spa + Vitality Center will be rolled out to three ships in 2019: Riviera (December 5), Sirena (December 7) and Nautica (also December 7). The spa launches in 2020 on Regatta (January 6), Insignia (January 8) and Marina (January 22).

Reservations for Aquamar spa treatments will open on a rolling basis, beginning in early November for Riviera, Sirena and Nautica. Upper-tier Oceania Club members, Gold and above, will receive Aquamar spa treatment credits as part of their membership perks.
