(1:45 p.m. GMT) -- Princess Cruises has announced its previously limited time offer savings package will be permanently available on all future bookings across its 18-strong fleet.
The Princess Plus package, costing £35 per person, per day, was initially introduced for a limited period, offering a half-price saving on the add-on that previously cost £70. The line says that due to high demand it has been decided to extend it to all bookings going forward, without a time restriction and at the current price.
The package covers drinks -- including cocktails, wine, beer, spirits, soft drinks, tea and coffee -- unlimited use of Wi-Fi and tips. The Wi-Fi offer is a result of Princess ships being upgraded to 'MedallionNet' technology which includes faster connectivity. It will be introduced on five vessels in the fleet by the end of this year and the rolling enhancement programme will continue throughout 2020 and beyond.
Tony Roberts, Vice president Princess Cruises UK & Europe, said: "The demand for our Princess Plus package has been phenomenal and shows no sign of slowing down.
"We are constantly striving to enhance the onboard experience for our guests and by introducing the package as a permanent fixture we are giving people the chance to make the most of their holiday while saving money at the same time."
• Princess Cruises has confirmed a £1 deposit day for any 2020/21 cruise booked this Thursday only, March 5.
Passengers taking advantage of the offer will have nothing more to pay until the balance due date, or they can spread the cost of their cruise up to 90 days before sailing. The deal applies to all sailings and ships in the 18-strong fleet, which will be boosted in June when the 3,660-passenger Enchanted Princess launches in Europe. It is the fourth year running Princess has run the £1 deposit day
