The ninth annual UK Editors' Picks -- selected by a global panel of impartial Cruise Critic editors -- celebrates excellence in cruise travel and features a host of categories dedicated to ocean, river and luxury cruising. River and luxury lines are judged separately and are given their own set of awards.
Seabourn Cruise Line picks up "Best Luxury Cruise Line" for the second year in a row, and Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection also returns for a second consecutive year to take the prize for "Best River Cruise Line".
The largest ship in MSC Cruises' fleet, MSC Meraviglia is the UK's "Best New Ship" based on its combination of celebrity chef partnerships, new alternative dining options (Japanese, steak), Cirque du Soleil performances and expanded kids club and MSC Yacht Club facilities.
Other winners in the ocean categories include Cunard for "Best Ship Refurbishment" for another year (Queen Victoria in 2017 and Queen Mary 2 in 2016) and Royal Caribbean International for "Best Entertainment" for the fourth year running. Additionally, Celebrity Cruises picks up two awards: "Best Cabins" for its second year and "Best For Romance".
Cruise Critic UK editor Adam Coulter said: "It's been another great year for cruise, with some outstanding ships debuting and UK cruise passengers getting ever closer to that magic 2m mark.
"The increasing number of itinerary and ship options, as well as the sheer amount of innovation, continues to impress, and by sharing our combined first-hand insight and expertise, we can celebrate some of the top choices available."
In the river categories, Crystal Cruises' Crystal Bach wins "Best New River Ship," Avalon Waterways picks up "Best Cabins," and Amadeus River Cruises scoops "Best Value."
In the luxury categories, Silversea's Silver Muse, which launched in 2017, walks away with "Best New Luxury Ship," Crystal Cruises wins "Best Dining," and Crystal Symphony wins "Best Luxury Refurbishment."
