(10:15 a.m. EST) -- World-renowned tenor Andrea Bocelli and singing superstar Ricky Martin, will help MSC Cruises welcome its newest cruise ship, MSC Seaside, to Miami during its official naming ceremony December 21. Seaside is the line's first ship custom-built for the North American market.
Actor and American TV host Mario Lopez will serve as the Master of Ceremonies for the evening's festivities, greeting celebrities at MSC's "Blue Carpet," where they'll give interviews, take photographs, and meet the crowds.
Other famous faces attending the official launch and Naming Ceremony for MSC Seaside will include Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino who played for the Miami Dolphins for 17 years, and, of course, the ship's Godmother, Italian actress Sophia Loren, who has helped christen every MSC cruise ship since 2003.
The first of two ships in its class, MSC Seaside features a large ratio of outdoor space, four pools, the longest zipline at sea and brand-new entertainment, among other features. Cruise Critic was among the first onboard the ship when it departed from the shipyard where it was built; see what we thought of it.
