(2:30 p.m. EST) -- Carnival Cruise Line's third Vista-class ship, Carnival Panorama, will be based out of Long Beach, California when it launches in 2019. It will go straight to its homeport from the shipyard without doing a European season of cruises.
"As part of our commitment and belief in this market, we will be bringing our third Vista-class ship, Carnival Panorama, to be based here in 2019," said Christine Duffy, Carnival Cruise Line president. "It's the first time that Carnival will position a brand-new ship, straight from the yard, here in Long Beach."
The 3,960-passenger Carnival Panorama will operate seven-night Mexican Riviera cruises from Long Beach. It will offer most of the same dining, bar, entertainment and activity options as Carnival Vista and Carnival Horizon including the SkyRide, the WaterWorks aqua park, and venues with both indoor and outdoor spaces like Fahrenheit 555 steakhouse, Bonsai Sushi and the Library Bar. Also featured will be the exclusive Havana section with its own Cuban-themed bar and pool, as well as the keycard-protected Family Harbor featuring family-friendly staterooms and the Family Harbor Lounge.
The ship is currently under construction at Fincantieri's Marghera shipyard.
