We are pretty loyal to HAL, but this trip was an amazing value. My knees don't work right, so I can't "do" Alaska like I could have thirty years ago. My hope was to see as much as I could see from the boat. Our goal was quiet, decent food, decent service, and to take in some of the amazing scenery that is Alaska.
We got that, and more!
We scored a beautiful club suite-- more room than ...
Went on an Alaskan cruise last year on Princess. A mud slide prevented us from going into Skagway. Booked this cruise to make up for it. So far I don’t have many good things to say. I have 20 cruises worth of experience on several cruise lines. Each cruise line does some thing well and could use improvement in other areas. So far the service has been terrible. I had a good experience in the ...
I didn't pick this cruise, my bride did. One day out of the blue, she asked me "Can we go on an Alaska cruise?" We'd already been on one in 2017, but I didn't argue with her. It's a good enough cruise to do a repeat.
We flew to Seattle the day before the cruise and stayed at the Waterfront Marriott. It's pricey, but across the street from the cruise port. It's close enough that the bell ...
Let me start by saying the cruise all around was decent. We had a number of issues within the ship, and staff
Day 1: Our luggage was delivered to the incorrect room. We were able to retrieve our luggage because the family that had our luggage read the luggage tag and brought it to our room. We brought this up to guest services and they looked at me as if I was stupid.
Day 2 we learned that ...
The ship its self is nicely presented but the service was horrible. First of all our bags were not in our room until 9pm, our room smelled like arm pit and we were suppose to have a bottle of champagne when we got to our room & desserts for our Anniversary and nothing was there. We asked our Stuart what happened and he comes back with a bottle of champagne that was warm not chilled. We asked for ...
This was our first cruise in twenty years and our first cruise on NCL. As we were celebrating our 40th anniversary we decided to splurge and book a Haven cabin and enjoy all of the benefits that go along with cruising in the Haven. Since this was a special occasion, we did book back to back weeks on the same ship with the second week also being in the Haven.
In general, we liked the layout ...
I gave this cruise two stars based on:
Alaska and Glacier Bay are breathtaking.
Room steward was attentive.
Dining room staff, specialty dining staff, and a couple bar tenders are well trained and seemed to enjoy their jobs.
Purchased priority embarkation for $199 which included breakfast room service. The man that delivered our breakfast was pleasant and enjoyable.
Teppanyaki had ...
I have mixed feelings about this cruise. I've only been on two cruises prior to this and both were with Carnival to the Bahamas.
FIRST IMPRESSION - The port in Seattle was dirty. The check-in process was long, which is usually par for the course. When I finally got checked in and on board the ship I couldn't even go to my room because it wasn't ready. When my room was finally ready they ...
I chose this cruise as it was the only one that fit into my schedule. I did not realize that cruise ships now nickel and dime you on everything.
The staff is not helpful when trying to book specialty restaurants. They can't recommend anything, they tell you to look at the menu and come back. I could not book specialty restaurants prior arriving on the ship, I tried, no specialty restaurant had ...
This was our first and last cruise with Norwegian. Between the minimal entertainment, aggressive sales tactics, and limited free dining options, we were annoyed and bored most of the time.
The ship is so crowded that it’s almost impossible to even find a seat in a public area. That goes for shore excursions as well.
Even though we prepaid for the premium plus drink package, we were charged ...
