We love NCL; this was our fourth cruise with them. Started with a weather issue and Bermuda drop as a port; we did not find this out until we were in the check-in line. My traveling companions and I stayed in 2 room balcony suites at the front of the ship. The cabins were spacious and well equipped. We had excellent service from our steward and butler. My only disappointment with the ship was that it was not always easy to find areas to relax. Having sailed NCL several times before and reading reviews of the Gem, I looked forward to another enjoyable cruise. Sadly, we were disappointed. The ship is very well maintained. Overall a great ship. Brand new. Food on board was delicious. Drinks were well prepare most of the time everywhere, beer on the other hand can be colder for my taste. The game room and go karts were spectacular. Entertainment for example the betelgeuse show was wayyyyy to long. Half way half of the people were sleeping and other already left. Chose this cruise because of the itinerary and price. We found the overall ship to be in good shape and clean. The staff was excellent and very helpful. Stayed in a Haven suite and found the cabin to be clean and good size for my wife and I. We found the food to very good and restaurant staff to be great. This was my second cruise ever so I can't complain about the layout of the ship like everyone else. It was a little confusing to figure out where anything was but that added to the adventure I suppose. Overall, I really enjoyed my second cruise with NCL. Took this cruise because of the itinerary, 14 days and 14 ports. Was a bit disappointed as 2 ports were changed. However from when I reached the NCL Hotel to getting back to Santo Domingo Airport I was not disappointed. Every one from guests to crew were very friendly.
