First time on this cruise.
The first show of the cruise had a charge of 45$ per person, food not very tasty, beds, are not very comfortable. Gym is free but for the rest you have to pay. 245$ for using the Spa (steam/salt/sauna) Complementary restaurants are ok, but only 5, VERY STRONG SMELL of cigarette on deck 6 to 8 (nasty)

We decided to try the NCL line after many years of absence. We are a mature couple more aligned to celebrity and Oceania, having cruised since 1980 and we were looking forward to the Escape because of its association with Frank Del Rio from Oceania, and the food showed it. Good cruise. Very small balcony - but good enough. Very narrow hallways - but good enough. Food was great. Second night at sea was seafood at the buffet - don't miss it, the shrimp was great and plentiful. The Tropicana dining room had a dance floor and some enjoyable entertainment.
The shows were terrific. We went back a second time to enjoy them again...

Positives: Staff was very cordial, until the last day when some seemed to be in a bad mood. Maybe they were going to miss us?
Drink plan was a good value.
Internet, while expensive, worked.
Cereal in individuals serving size boxes was a big plus.
Bed was super-comfortable
Embarking and disembarking was smooth.

We sailed on the Escape with our family who ranged from five years old to 82 years old.
Embarkment was a breeze. We had check in from 10 to 1030 and I think we waited until about 1130 to board. We walked around the ship until sailaway. I had been through the canal six times on the USS Boston (three tours of duty in VN) and wanted my wife to see the canal. We watched from the lounge and it proved to be a wonder for all the folks that were in with us.

Very confused in peoples reviews of the Norwegian escape. Many things can go wrong with a trip but you have to go with it and enjoy. My biggest joy about this ship was the staff. Normally this is a 7 day cruise that goes to Bahamas. We opted for the 6 day so we could take a couple days pre-departure and check out Key West. If I had to rate the cruise I would give it a B-
