Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Sirena

The cruise staff was very very nice. That's the only positive thing. The cruise was attended by emptying 3 or 4 retirement old folk home. Maybe, 10 people under 70 and there were many people were on walkers and wheelchairs. In addition, the very few activities were canceled when a gastro infection was taking people down. No daily lively entertainment. This cruise is for recovering from a ...

Oceania Sirena - Miami to Panama City - March 7-17 2024 This was my third cruise with Oceania. The first was the Eastern Mediterranean in 2009, the second was Northern Europe in 2012. I really enjoyed those two cruises; this one, not so much. Based on my experiences on this cruise, it's unlikely I will take a 4th cruise with Oceania. Let's start with the good. The food was excellent. I did ...

After some time in Panama City and a slow trip back home, our bags are unpacked and I am now provide this very subjective, but hopefully balance, review. Overall, we had an excellent cruise with good to excellent food and service. By way of background, we have only sailed on Oceania and this was our 6th cruise with them. Embarkation We had registered for a 12:30 boarding time but found ...

A very pleasant cruise

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Sirena

The Sirena is one of 4 small ships owned by the upmarket Oceania Cruises. The selling features are its small size, under 700 passengers, no crowds, lines, and children. The officers, staff and crew could not have been nicer. I was impressed by Carson Turner, a super - talented cruise director… a really affable guy who is also a talented singer and performer. Actually, the entire ...

Hard to believe this ship is a new build! It cruises like a bucket!

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Oceania Vista

(This is the same review I gave directly to the front dest while on board. We have had zero response.) It is extremely hard to believe this ship is a new build in 2023. The movement of the ship once it left the port of Miami was intense as it was each time the ship was moving. The noise in the aft concierge cabin -- sounding much like a washing machine -- was constant for the first two days AND ...

This would be our 4th Oceania cruise. We've sailed on Marina and Riviera. We are Elite Plus on Celebrity. We have also sailed with Viking, Azamara, and Royal Caribbean. We found out that we love the small ships. Oceania always excelled in making us feel special. We rarely had problems with Oceania. then there was Vista Embarkation was easy. We dropped off our luggage around 1:30 and parked at ...

Mostly Met Expectations

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Insignia

4 1/2 stars. We were a couple with a B2 balcony on the E Caribbean cruise and had sailed on sister ship Regatta in Fr Polynesia roughly a year earlier (recommended). I think the 'overview' description of both ships as being smaller and therefore 'quieter' with fewer activities is really useful for first-timers to understand. It's true that the passenger profile skews older but we met (and met ...

My husband and I are in our late 60's. I would say that was the average age on this cruise. We have previously been on many Crystal cruises and several cruises on Marina and Riviera. This was our first cruise since December 2019 and it definitely met our high expectations. The Vista is beautiful and serene. Artwork and lighting are stunning. The library was so inviting and the bakery ...

I am an experienced cruiser of 30 years, 40 or so cruises, mostly Celebrity but also five on Crystal, Regent, Azamara, Cunard, MSC, NCL and Royal. I was in the Owner's Suite and traveling with my mom in the suite, sister in another suite. First Oceania cruise. First, the good. I love the R ships. The size is perfect. You feel like you are on a ship, and not in a hotel that happens to be at ...

Bad ship

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Insignia

This cruise for 20 days had lots of problems. Most importantly, the temperature on board was uncontrolled. The ship was freezing. People wore sweaters everywhere. The polo grill was so cold you couldn't eat in the front area. We were told that the AC is broken and the thermostats don't work. That also includes the cabins. The AC is either on or off with no controls. the shore excursions were ...
