I have read some of the reviews on the NAUTICA before we traveled and having now completed the cruise I believe that some of the expectations are unfair. Have only been on larger ships from Celebrity and Royal Caribbean. Wanted to try a smaller ship.
We were very happy with our 1st experience on Oceania/Regatta. Ground transportation from LAX to ship was effortless as was our return. The same for Embarkation/Disembarkation - very organized.

After much research, we chose Oceania to cruise Alaska for many reasons: the size of the ship to allow closer viewing of glaciers and inside passage cruising, crew to passenger ratio, refurbished interior design of the cabin and public spaces, specialty restaurants and overall dining, promise of cuisine excellence, gym, spa, and other amenities.

- the food is excellent
- the staff is ver friendly and courteous
- the room stewards ( ours is May ) are superb
