Not a Glowing Review

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Oceania Vista

Having just completed a cruise on Oceania’s new ship, Vista. I would like to share my observations about the Vista as compared to their sister ships, Marina and Riviera. Things that were eliminated: No Jacques (our favorite speciality restaurant), no Coffee Corner in Horizons (our favorite breakfast place), no Prime Rib in Polo (our favorite meal), no La Reserve, no Grand Bar, no Wine Bar, ...

A beautiful new ship

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Oceania Vista

My husband and I chose this cruise because of past experiences with Oceania. The Vista is wonderful but does not quite live up to the hype. We always book in the concierge level. The cabins are well planned with lots of storage. The bathroom is luxurious with a shower that is one of the best ever. The specialty restaurants are the best with the exception of the new Ember. It is loud and difficult ...

The VIsta is a great ship for us!

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Oceania Vista

We have travelled on Oceania once (or twice) before when we had a one week stretch with no kids with us, so we’ve had some experience with them. It’s funny how there are so many similarities between the lines we’ve traveled (more commonality I would say than ‘not’), so these comparisons are somewhat for my own memory when we are ready to book again. When we book a trip, the experience we ...

Loved the new ship, great ports (except for fogged out of Cork Ireland and running from New Brunswick to NYC to avoid Hurrican Lee

We chose this cruise as we enjoyed a Translantic 10 year ago, and wanted to see Ireland, Newfoundland, and Saint Pierre. The ship was beautiful. Food still as good as always (except was disappointed with Embers, wish they change it to Jaques), Service was excellent with the room stewards, however in the food venues it was slow responses. Ports of call were well received and tours were ...

A Lovely Ship But

Southampton to New York via France, Ireland plus the Canadian and American Atlantic Seaboard. This cruise went to many places we had not visited before. Unfortunately due to hurricane Lee we missed 3 of the ports of call. Vista is a big ship with about 1250 passengers and the accommodation was excellent. The restaurants also provided high quality cuisine except the Ember Restaurant which was a ...

This was my 5th cruise with Oceania & it won’t be my last. They never disappoint. Smaller ships that would mostly appeal to adults. It as a lovely trip touring around the British Isles with interesting ports. The service on board was exceptional. There are 4 Specialty Restaurants with 8 restaurants in total not including Afternoon Tea & the Barista & Pastry area. Special mention to Marina, ...

Beautiful ship but many bumps in the road

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Oceania Vista

We choose this cruise for two reasons. The ship was brand new and the itinerary covered almost all the tops ports around the British Isles. I think you would enjoy a cruise on Vista, if the cruise did not have a lot of port calls. I say this because while we were on the ship we enjoyed the trip. The room was beautiful, the food was good to very good and the entertainment was lovely. A ...

Beautiful Ship but lots of glitches

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Oceania Vista

We chose Oceania after hearing stellar reviews from friends and family. Our cruise experience has been limited; we cruised on Sea Goddess years ago and knew we would never come close to that again. We have been on Princess to Alaska and Celebrity to Bermuda, and we were expecting way more from Oceania. The Vista is beautiful, the public spaces spacious and designed in a very contemporary ...

I was invited to post this review here after posting it on the Boards. Happy to do so. My rating of 4 stars is only because I didn't feel 3 stars was sufficient. If I could rate it more appropriately, it would get 3.5 stars. This review ONLY focuses on the Owners Suite, and issues I found with it. After the initial critical review, I'm going to add another post I made when somebody asked me ...

Disappointing Oceania experience

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Riviera

We choose to try Oceania after having done a number of Azamara cruises because we’d heard Oceania/Rivera was a little more upmarket, great food, better cruise experience despite Oceania being more expensive than the comparable Azamara for a midship upgraded cabin. It started well, boarding experience good, cabin shower/bathroom space a plus. Then to the cafe area - always overcrowded & made worse ...
