We had done Viking previously and found them to be exceptional with cruise, sites, room, cleanliness, friendliness, food, service to and from airport, hotel accommodations in departure cities for extensions, and concierge service in extensions. Already booked next trip for next year. This will be my fifth cruise. Everything done with Viking seems to go smoothly. They are great with handicapped ...

A great cruise, an excellent river cruise company, we have taken six cruises with Viking, all in Europe since 2010. The food on the cruise was very good, breakfasts and lunches were buffets or you may order off the menu which changes daily. Dinners were had a gourmet flavor and themes from the cruising regions were presented daily. Lots of choices, the wine flows freely at lunch and dinner ...

Castles, castles and wine, Viking Cities of Light cruise

We took the Viking Cities of Light cruise from Paris to Prague. Initially, I must say that Viking's logistics were incredible. From picking us up at de Gaulle, to getting us to the airport in Prague, and everything in between, they were great. Although we took the cruise for the beginning and end, the middle ports and cruising the Seine through all of the castles was just as good as the ...

We were on the same cruise and the prior reviewer Bizzyma. The trip was a celebration of my 60th birthday as well as my wife and my 25th wedding anniversary. We were joined by my high school best friend and his wife that I had lost touch with 40 years ago, The cruise exceeded my expectations. The staff (with one exception I'll mention last) was very attentive to all our needs. Our server ...

Our friends had been wanting to do a river cruise for years so last year we agreed to go with them on the Cities of Light cruise with Viking. They have traveled to Europe many times but it was our first trip. My husband was not all that excited about going. In fact, before we left he basically said see what you want to see because this will be our last trip. Thankfully this Viking cruise ...

We had done ocean cruises, and heard about river cruises from friends. It was an outstanding choice. It was very easy to begin and end the cruise. Also getting off and on at ports was very smooth and easy. We were on the Viking Idun. Dining was excellent, and more regional than on ocean cruises. We were in port more than on ocean cruises, so on board entertainment was less extensive, and ...

I would highly recommend a river cruise on Viking. It is smaller and very flexible. We enjoyed getting to know passengers and crew. The meals were outstanding. The crew went out of their way to make you comfortable. Being able to unpack and not have to do it each day was a real blessing. The lounge areas were most comfortable. Our tour director was the best I've ever had. I'm ready to ...

Advertising was well done. They did not disappoint! The staff was amazing. Each excursion was well planned and top notch. We so loved that excursions were included in the cost. There were a few additional ones we could buy but the ones that came with the cruise were wonderful. We loved the informative and local tour guides who each added that local flavor as well as good tips for how and where to ...

This was our fourth trip with Viking River Cruises and once again they did not disappoint. From the moment they picked us up at the airport, until they put us on the transfer to the airport to go home, everything was perfect. The crew, the food, the ship and the itinerary were outstanding. For those who have never been on a river cruise be aware this is not like ocean cruising. The ships ...

We were interested in the Paris, wine, and castles aspects of the cruise. The two nights in Paris, with the city tour, were excellent--great hotel, only a couple of block from the Eiffel Tower, so walking around the heart of Paris was very easy. The shore excursions, especially the historic sites such as the Roman ruins in Triere, were also a draw for us. This is our second Viking cruise and we ...
