Chose this cruise for 2 reasons: a) My birthday b) Mary Berry on board as my wife is a fan!
The crew were excellent; all seemed to get on really well and were very efficient & cheerful
Excursions were also v.good with free time to explore. Local guides spoke good English & were easily understood.

This is our third cruise with Emerald and they have all been fabulous. Everyone on board is very helpful, making sure your cruise is amazing.
There were problems on the Danube with low water levels so we had to start at Passau not Neuremberg but we missed none of the tours, being bussed to Regensburg.

We have cruised on 15 plus ocean liner cruises, all over the world and loved every one of them, but had been encouraged by other cruisers to try a river cruise. So we did and really regret doing so! The cost of a river cruise with Avalon was more than twice as much as any liner cruise we have ever taken(of same duration).

Some friends had done this same cruise last year and rated it very highly, and I had always wanted to visit Prague and Budapest. I agree with the rating. The staff was wonderful, the meals reflected local cuisine and were quite good, and the excursions, both those that came with the cruise and the add-ons, were superb, done by local people with a lot of knowledge.
