Last minutes decision due to price and embarkation port. Great to live near SF for last minutes cruises, plus the Grand Princess is a truly great ship.
This was an Alaskan cruise and every cruise to Alaska is different due to weather and wild life sightings. This trip the bald eagles in Juneau were the highlight as they circled and feed as we were docking in Juneau.

Great overall cruise, our 35th... had some rough seas but nothing to really write home about. Been in worst. The crew were wonderful, the food was much better and the ship was in excellent condition. It’s not new, but very clean.

First, the food. The food in the dining room on the first day was completely inedible. Everyone at the table got different things and said the same thing. Had some problems with Princess and the ship. We were promised a room on an upper deck (14 or 15). They put us on deck 8.
My room key wouldn't work on 5 of the 7 days. Kept taking it back to the front desk to fix it once and for all and all they would do is give me another room key (that also failed).
