An almost complete let down compared to prior princess cruises

We had decided to cruise on princess for our third time this October and brought a friend for their first cruise on princess. Prior to going we talked up the wonderful experiences we’ve had on princess before. What a let down and embarrassment this cruise was. With the exception of the wonderful staff this was the worst cruise I’ve experienced. It seems that princess is cutting corners and costs ...

Went with a group , too late to get a mini suite so we had a regular room with balcony. The whole ship needs to be remodeled, the pools are nice, low ceiling in the common area, rust stains all around the boat, our deck , big with two chairs and a table in need of refreshing coat, between the deck you could see the damage from the sea air, galvanic corrosion, the room right out of the love boat ...

We chose this cruise because of embarkation in San Francisco and the ports to visit. One main interest was the Getty villa and museum in the port of Long Beach. Unfortunately after we booked the cruise and the excursion, Princess changed the Long Beach port to San Pedro which offered nothing much to do and our excursion to Getty museum was cancelled. The main dining room staff was minimal with ...

Great itinerary but ship looks tired

We booked this cruise as we wanted to see the California coast. The ship was definately a tired ship. We have cruised many times but this was below our expectations. The staff and main areas were great. We are in our 60’s but too many old people with zimmers and wheelchairs. We were last folk to bed - at 11.30!. Our cabin was tired and balcony was a mess. Don’t think we will ever cruise with ...

close to home and used to be very enjoyable. It is going downhill very fast, the food is very predictable (always the same), the crew must have been new because they were out of sync most of the time. The food was cold and smothered in gravy. The elite lounge changed their drinks to fruity sweet stuff and jacked up their prices by $1.50 more per drink. The ship is looking very tired, needs a lot of ...

Very disappointed with the downward direction in which Princess is spiraling. This last cruise was very poor. Good: Cruise director Matt was funny and friendly. Matt's assistant, Theo, is the best Zumba instructor on land and sea. Orchestra plus singers and dancers were top notch. Our 6 year old grandson enjoyed the Children's Kids Club. Bad: Food, cleanliness and entertainment were well ...

We just returned from the weeklong SF California Coast tour. There were 12 of in our group. This was my sixth cruise but the first on Princess. My father is a longtime Princess traveler. The maintenance and service on the ship were less then acceptable. Our stateroom was fine. We found the general restrooms lacking general maintenance. Although they all had signs reminding patrons to wash ...

Cabins Need Updating

We picked this cruise because it sailed out of San Francisco which is our home port and had a good itinerary. The ships public rooms have been renovated and are nice but can be crowded. The balcony cabin we had was good size but needs a complete update. The bathroom shower was very small and trim pieces of the shower head kept coming off. The toilet was discolored and very smelly. Regarding ...

This ship is in need of a makeover. Old and worn through out ship. It took us 3 days to get wine glasses delivered to our room, 2 days to get a room service menu for our room. Beds were hard and past use. They kept old bedding in bags under bed. We could not get hold of our Princess agent to get the credits that were due us, the Customer Service desk did not believe us and said we had to ...

Over-Crowded, Very Disappointing Cruise

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Grand Princess

My husband and I chose this cruise as a way to Seattle. We would disembark in Vancouver and then take a train to Seattle. Also, we usually took Amtrak Coast Starlight from Los Angeles to Seattle and since we enjoy cruising, we thought we would try this coastal cruise. The embarkation was a bit long because of the crowds. Our cabin was a big disappointment as it was a mini-suite, the only ...
