South pacific repositioning cruise

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Royal Princess

Looking forward to seeing couple of new places and revisiting others. Was already on the Crown Princess in Alaska in may and found that the service and food has got so bad. They seem to be leaving the service out and many crew were not trained. We found that they were using the long ride to train staff. While I understand that if we had been told we could have not so hard on the crew we ...

Princess focus on charging more vs guest loyalty

Mediocre PCL experience. As Captain Circle Platinum guests, we received very little recognitions throughout our 7-day cruise. PCL primarily focus seems to be “charge more, give less.” Imposed new charges on services which should be included, such as room service, medallion orders, Alfredo/Gigi’s, etc. Crew seemed tired, overwhelmed, unhappy and rude at times. Managers conduct meetings with staff ...

Princess needs to up their game!

Another and possibly our last Princess cruise due to cutbacks ,poor food and very disappointing entertainment onboard. We have done over 400 days on princess and since the break over Covid we are just completing our 4th long cruise and have felt undervalued and quite frankly ripped off. We travel in a suite and enjoy the concierge lounge with happy hour every evening with complimentary ...

Nice ship - food and entertainment need serious upgrading

This was our first cruise since the restart after covid. As platinum cruisers with Princess this was not our first trip by any means and we were interested to compare the before and after. Royal was bigger than the ships we had cruised previously so we had some expectations of crowding which wasn't really an issue for the most part. Bar and Atrium entertainers were great but the main ...

Boring ship

Our travel agent recommended us to go with Royal Princess for our Alaska cruise as they had the best itinerary. The excursions were great. The day at the glacier on the ship was ok but, even though we went to two, one was so far away, there was no way we could see anything. Disappointing. The on-board activities were uninteresting. A lot of 'game show' activities. My husband went to one "Can you ...

Royal Princess not so Royal

Royal Princess This was our first cruise and we we’re celebrating our 30 year anniversary with family as well as celebrating our parents 64th! I honestly was disappointed and might of had too high of expectations. Couple of items that are a must; a balcony room (mid to forward ship mid floor) to escape to so you can privately enjoy the Alaska scenery and escape the 3500 guests on board. ...

Excellent service, beautiful sights, way too many people

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Royal Princess

We have been on more than 20 cruises but none in 3 years due to the pandemic, so I picked this cruise as it was relatively short, inexpensive and easy for the 4 of us to get to. This was our 3rd Alaskan cruise on Princess; the other two had different itineraries. On the positive side, the food in the Concerta Main Dining Room was excellent as was the service. Although we would have preferred ...

This was a bucket list item for husband and I. It was our 3rd Princess cruise. The Royal Princess is a beautiful ship. But our cruise was a bit disappointing. First, the weather was bad. No one's fault and we did choose May. The scenery is very beautiful. We hardly saw any wildlife which is, again, no one's fault but disappointing. Our hike in Juneau was canceled; we weren't given a ...

What is going on with Princess?

This was our 12th cruise on Princess. We were on the Royal Princess, a beautiful ship. We were booked in a mini-suite, mid-ship deck 10. Great location, close to everything. From the time we arrived at the pier we were onboard in about 40 minutes. There was some confusion about what to do with luggage but it was resolved and everyone was on there way to the ship. We were onboard early but ...

Most of the major aspects of the cruise was acceptable. The room was clean, but very small. That's to be expected since it was an inside room. The food was the best part of the cruise. The dining room food was very good. The buffet was barely acceptable. Breakfast items did not change very much. There was not enough seating during the busy hours. The coffee at the buffet was terrible. It was very ...
