Ruby Princess needs a complete overhaul of her plumbing etc.
There were extensive problems with toilets not working, flooding in some cabins and even the kitchen got flooded.
There was a fire in the crew area on the last night as well as a sudden listing to one side. Several people were picked up by ambulances when we got to Ft Lauderdale in the morning. Don't know what that was related ...
I'm not sure what happened to the Ruby since I cruised on her in July of 2022, but something sure changed.
Dining:
Crown Grill: We ate there 2 times, and the first time I ordered the Filet Med Rare - It was the toughest piece of meat I've ever eaten......tasted like a cheap piece of sirloin steak. It was cooked perfectly, but man was it tough. The 2nd time I ordered the Porterhouse ...
Ruby was marginal at best. Buffet food is very average and desserts at dinner are so boring and tasteless. They go for colorful and creative looking deserts with no real substance or taste. Many of the staff have no clue about what food they are serving and service is spotty. The embarkation process was not done according to groups like it is intended to be. No one checked or asked about my group. ...
We chose this cruise to be with friends, and also to be a "bucket list" trip to the Hawaiian Islands. Unfortunately, all the friends had to cancel for various reasons, so we made the cruise as a solo couple.
We require handicapped-accessible accommodations as my wife is scooter bound.
Pre-cruise issue 1: The Medallionclass app
We were supposed to enter our pre-cruise information and ...
This was a replacement trip for our planned two months in Europe that had to be cancelled for the 2nd year in a row. Thank you Covid for that. I had always been interested in the Panama Canal but most of the cruises I'd looked at were partial transit. This was a full transit.
My travel partner and I used points to spend 5 nights in San Francisco prior to boarding and I had a timeshare ...
We loved Princess after previous happy cruising with them. However, sadly, this cruise was far from good with poor food, not much quality entertainment and our cabin was not even clean when we arrived despite claims of enhanced cleaning. Crown Grill disappointed. Best food was in the International Cafe, which was great! We’re not giving up on Princess yet having already booked and paid for a ...
The cruise itself did not disappoint, good service, food, itinerary, entertainment BUT the Medallion app is horrid, utterly so.
It boggles the mind that Princess mandates the use of the Medallion app with no alternative! And it must be used prior to boarding, as well as while onboard.
We had a heck of a time trying to complete our pre-boarding checklist using the app in the weeks leading ...
We were excited to be on our first cruise since 2019 and this was a warm-up cruise for our booked 2023 World Cruise on the Island Princess. We selected a club class and the three of us would have a mini with a full queen and a fold out full bed. The room was very good with a full bathroom with a tub and large center cabin.
Boarding: What a nightmare, we waited approximately 1-1/2 hours to ...
I am a platinum member having sailed Princess several times. On this occasion I found Princess to be struggling to deliver post pandemic as it seems to have cut back on staff thus standard of service. By example first night in the restaurant I was served raw centred chicken and this was quickly whisked away without any great concern for the risk such a mistake can cause health wise. Our cabin was ...
This was a 10 day cruise from SF to Cabo, despite it showing as a cancelled 15 day Hawaiian. Service was good with staff being attentive and up to Princess standards. There were only 670 passengers out of full 3000 capacity. Princess older fleet starting to show its age and Ruby is not exception.
The outer haul and some other outdoor areas, including balconies are full of rust, despite just ...
