Antarctica fabulous but Regent has declined

Review for a South America Cruise on Seven Seas Voyager

Loved seeing antarctica. we booked as former fans of regent after 5 previous trips. The voyager is a nice boat with fun circular pool bar where we have enjoyed meeting many friends on past trips. however, the boat is looking somewhat shabby and needs a rehab to put it back to 5 star status. while the staff people are great, they seemed stressed/training mode now, from what we observed (lack of ...

Not a luxury experience

This was our first Regent cruise. We have previously sailed with Viking,Virgin, Celebrity, Holland, MSC, NcL and Carnival mostly in suites. We are childless couple in our sixties and started cruising in 2018. We are active and enjoy great food and drink. We always enjoy ourselves. This cruise was disappointing from the very start. The ship is older but not well maintained. The crew was ...

Six-star cruise line, five-star ship

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Seven Seas Navigator

Regent is going considered a six-star line, but as an experienced cruisers we found this to be a five-star ship. Here are a few notes (issues and highlights by category): Accommodations: Exceptional suites, extremely lean and despite their age are very well maintained, albeit with a somewhat outdated color palette. Very comfortable bedding, ample closet space, shower and tub separated, ...

Tahiti is wonderful

Overall a great experience. Lost Moorea due to weather and Nuku Hiva was a waste of fuel. Should have added more time in Bora Bora. Ship is old but kept up pretty nicely. Air conditioning worked perfectly. Crew is great led by Ray, cruise director, who was everywhere. Boarding: This was a mess with a long line as everyone seemed to board at the same time. Conversely, the disembarkment was ...

Failed Luxury

There were several ups and downs. Ours was not a luxury experience. We were not on the transfer list for the prepaid ride from the airport to the hotel. Took a taxi and had to hagle with ship crew to get reimbursed. The hotel, Tahiti Pearl, was in a beautiful spot but I would put it on par with a Best Western with a view Embarkation was the worst I have ever experinced. We waited in ...

Captain Skips Ports! 'nuf said!

Review for a South America Cruise on Seven Seas Voyager

This captain skips ports. What else can be said about a cruise billed as a voyage to Antarctica and the Falklands Islands but skips the Falklands and cuts out a day in Antarctica. I'm sure most people lined up to pay $$$ to see eight days in a row of the South Atlantic. No? Probably not. I hear there's a line forming onboard to join a class action lawsuit organized by some of the passengers. Rude ...

Disappointed - missed ports; sleepless nights

Review for a Antarctica Cruise on Seven Seas Voyager

Chose this cruise as we had wanted to visit the Falkland Islands, and see Antarctica. Was unsure if a true expedition cruise would be too challenging, however, in the end would much have preferred a true expedition experience (with use of Zodiacs, etc). We chose Regent as we had travelled on the Splendor in 2021, and had a positive experience throughout the Mediterranean and trans ...

Such a Disappointment

Review for a Antarctica Cruise on Seven Seas Voyager

My 2nd ever cruise and first on a so-called Prestige Line ship. Voyager as a ship was tired and clearly in need of refurbishment. TV swung from side to side even on a moderate swell giving sleepless nights. Balcony door wouldn't lock. The so-called exclusive toiliteries (shampoo and soap) were of a quality found in cheap motels forcing us to buy from the Spa Shop. The staff servicing the ...

Great staff, ambiance not good

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Seven Seas Explorer

User Avatar

All staff were very friendly. What is not good? Almost zero outdoor, pool deck activity! Only once every two weeks some food or live music on the pool deck. No music anywhere when the show is on. Some harbors bad stops such as in Java. Excursion some ok, some just hours of bus drives. Worst: Horrible wifi! If you are not retired and need to work some online: Do not use Regent! They advertise ...
