We booked this cruise solely because of Rio. I knew that it was an older ship, but really didn't realize the big difference compared to newer ships. There was little to do. I am a Sapphire level cruiser with NCL. I have enjoyed cruising with them for years. I chose this cruise because I was in Brazil at the time and the cruise departed from Rio de Janeiro. I sailed with NCL Star ship Lisbon to Buenos Aires 21-day route (15-day Transatlantic and 7-day South America). During embarkation on Lisbon, they checked the vaccine status of passengers. I have been on this ship before and enjoyed it. The cabins spacious, the food excellent, entertainment not the best, but OK and the staff so courteous and helpful.
On the 2nd port this time we were put into lockdown in our cabins while a patient results were awaited and unfortunately he was positive for Covid-19 15 March 2020

just returned from south american cruise and was very very disappointed.We have cruised multiple times and have not seen the poor quality of ship and most of managerial staff.
service was terrible.They DO NOT supply bar of soap, have one outlet in mini suite,give you two skimpy towels and you cannot reach room service. Only soap available is shower soap

The cruise was chosen as part of travel package. I have cruises before, but this was the worst for the following reasons:
- Lack of food choices and repetitive. They serve pasta and spaghetti with light sauce, lack of flavouring
