Cost cutting throughout, below RC Standards

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Odyssey of the Seas

Despite prices rising the last few years across all of RC’s ships, the cost cutting continues. Once a day stateroom service is a joke. RC should be embarrassed by this. When I was at guest services for a different matter, they grasped at straws to come up with explanations, or as I called them, excuses, as to why this was the case. My favourite was, “well all inclusive resorts only offer once a ...

A family of 14 travelled to Fort Lauderdale for an incredible gift from my mom on this adventure. I haven't been cruising for about 10 years (raising my kids) and I really loved my return to open water! Good things: 1. The ship was well maintained and flowed nicely. Our cabin and room attendant was 5star plus. 2. The windjammer was better than I remembered. 3. The ports of call ...

LACKLUSTER CRUISE

For the amount of money we paid for this cruise. It was not worth it. 1. Our balcony room couch/bed was like a hard block. We had to double up on comforters for the kids to sleep better. 2. the stateroom attendant was never around. We had to constantly call for towels, toilet paper, tissues. 3. the Windjammer food was the same for breakfast every day and even during lunch and dinner ...

End of Royal Caribbean or Yikes, is the really what they call food?

I have 12 Royal cruises under my belt before this and number 13 was NOT the lucky one. I cruised with my wife and my 17 year old son. This was the first RC cruise I went on where I did not have that, "I want to come back" feeling. The GOOD 1. Our waiter in the main dining room was spectacular. She was the shinning star of the cruise. 2. The casino was less smokey compared to other ...

We just concluded our 8 night cruise on Symphony to Aruba, Curaçao and Labadee Haiti (substituting Nassau Bahamas) we had a very good time! This is our 4th cruise overall (RCCL 7 day, RCCL 7 day, RCCL 8 day and Celebrity 10 night). This was a Spring Break cruise which was absolutely packed with around 5,300 people. The cruisers were overwhelmingly families (parents aged around 32-38 with ...

We love the entertainment on most of the Oasis-class ships, but the shows on the Symphony of the Seas were absolutely spectacular and amazing--by far the best we've seen. The Aqua show, the two ice shows, RC's original show regarding flight and the Broadway show, Hairspray were top notch. We have been on Oasis, Allure, Harmony and now the Symphony. Symphony was by far my favorite based on the ...

Is Royal Declining Post COVID?

This trip aboard Liberty of the Seas was my fifth time cruising with Royal. I have always enjoyed cruises, but there were several improvement opportunities this time. First was the main dining room for our traditional 7:45 seating. We were at our table for over an hour the first night before we received our appetizers. Our dinner took over 2 hours to get all our courses. We thought it was because ...

First and foremost, we only sail Royal. I want to start this off by praising the staff onboard. This is not possible without this amazing staff. My favorite part of any cruise we do is meeting the staff and feeling a warm greeting. We have been on 9 cruises now all with Royal. The ships are great and the shows are awesome. Thank you to every single staff members. You are what makes Royal the best. ...

Coco Beach Club Was Amazing but Boozers Were Not

We won this cruise so saying anything except glowing reviews feels pretty ugly. But, because you want candor, here goes: this was largely a booze cruise which prompted less decorum than I would have liked. As a 55 yr old woman excited for a little unexpected getaway with my hubby, I wasn't necessarily surprised with the party-nature of many passengers. But, what I wasn't expecting was the nudity ...

We were on the ship as part of the Park West VIP program. Our previous cruise ships were in the 2200-3300 passenger range or smaller, so this was a departure in size, over 50% larger than our previous cruises. For the most part the ship accommodates the number of passengers well but they didn't increase the number or size of the bars and lounges enough to take the increased passenger load into ...
