This was the second cruise for my wife and me and the first for our kids. My wife and I are 39 & 41 respectively and we have an 8 year old daughter and a 5 ½ year old son. As a bit of a background on us, we tend to spend our vacation dollars on fewer but better vacations - so we go for better hotels & restaurants as this is a big part of our enjoyment of a vacation. With that in mind you can judge ...

Background: We have cruised with Royal Caribbean several times, but all from the east coast. This was our first west coast cruise. We flew to LAX on Virgin America and VA is probably the best airline I have flown with in a very long time. Lots of leg room, comfortable seats, interesting way to order drinks, food, snacks. I won't fly any other way from now on. Hotel Info: I reserved an ExecuCar ...

My husband and I take two vacations a year...one for just us and one for the entire family. We love to cruise and have travelled previously with Royal Caribbean on Rhapsody of the Seas to the Western Caribbean and Freedom of the Seas to the Eastern Caribbean. We live in California so we set off for Los Angeles from the Central Valley. It was less than a four hour drive and we arrived at the San ...

We arrived 3 days before the cruise so we could take our 3 year old to Disney and Sea World. We also took in the Midway. Three jam packed days but all worth it. Stayed at the Omni downtown and it was great for the $105 per night deal we got through expedia. If we had paid the #300+ original price, I would have been upset. Embarkation: Decided to wait until the rush was over on embarkation day, so ...

Ever since living in the Northeast for the past 10 years, we have decided to take our big family vacation during Winter Break in February. We have been purchasing 2 cabins in order to accommodate myself, my husband, and our two boys. In my lifetime, I have NEVER experienced such a disheartening trip as this one on Voyager of the Seas, February 14, 2010! I agree with many of the other reviews, ...

We arrived at the Port in San Diego at about 12 noon and were able to board the ship almost instantaneously. After a quick bite and a peak at our room, we disembarked to explore the area surrounding the pier (as we had a few hours before the boat left). The walk was really nice; there are a lot of great sculptures (including a larger than life sized statute of the famous soldier-nurse kiss that ...

We and very good cruise critic friends fought through various snow storms to make our way to San Diego to board the Radiance of the Seas, a ship we met on two years ago. Our original flight was canceled due to the weather so we had to arrive in Sunny San Diego early than planned. We stayed across the street from the cruise ship dock at the Holiday Inn. Our room was not the best and the shuttle ...

We are in our mid 50's, live in Toronto, Canada and completed nine cruises. This was our third with Royal Caribbean, the previous two were on the larger Voyager and Explorer, so we knew the ship will be smaller and without the attractive Promenade space. We needed to be in San Diego in February. The ship's reviews were decent, the itinerary covered new ports for us, and the price was really ...

PRE-CRUISE: Stayed at the Crown Plaza Hotel in San Pedro. Hotel was nice and room comfortable. Not much to do in San Pedro so would probably stay in Long Beach next time as it cost us $60 RT to go to the Aquarium and there seemed to be much more to do. EMBARKATION: Crown Plaza shuttle took us to the port--first come first served. We were there at 11 am and on the ship by 11:45 am since were were ...

My wife and two of our three kids (left the baby at home with the inlaws) just returned from a 10 day cruise to the Mexican Riviera on the Radiance of the Seas. Months leading up to the cruise, I was extremely excited to see the ship in person, having read quite a bit about the architecture. The ship is covered in glass and offer spectacular views of its surroundings throughout most spaces in the ...
