Background: We have cruised with Royal Caribbean several times, but all from the east coast. This was our first west coast cruise. We flew to LAX on Virgin America and VA is probably the best airline I have flown with in a very long time. Lots of leg room, comfortable seats, interesting way to order drinks, food, snacks. I won't fly any other way from now on.

We arrived 3 days before the cruise so we could take our 3 year old to Disney and Sea World. We also took in the Midway. Three jam packed days but all worth it. PRE-CRUISE: Stayed at the Crown Plaza Hotel in San Pedro. Hotel was nice and room comfortable. Not much to do in San Pedro so would probably stay in Long Beach next time as it cost us $60 RT to go to the Aquarium and there seemed to be much more to do.
