"The ship is older which we understand but the outlets in the cabin would not hold a plug they were so loose. We found the music to be so loud in most of the venues that you could not carry on a conversation...."Read More

The ship provided the minimum required. Compared to preCOVID cruises it appears cost cutting was the most important part of the ships operation.

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Rhapsody of the Seas

We needed a transatlantic ride to the Greek Islands, where we disembarked. Cabin care was excellent. The steward worked 24/7, which indicates low staffing. Fixed time dining service was excellent. The wait staff were in rapid motion all evening, again low staffing. Breakfast and lunch in the dining room was quite poor. The staff seemed to have little knowledge of American and British ...

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Rhapsody of the Seas

We took the cruise from Haifa, Israel to Barcelona, Spain because of the destinations. We got onboard at the port of Haifa. Our cabin was dated and worn. The ship originally set sail in 1997. It doesn't appear that the staterooms have been updated since. The food in the "sit down" restaurants was terrible. Entries appeared to have been plated well before our arrival. The food arrived at ...

We felt that the food on this cruise was not up to par. We visited three of the specialty restaurants and decided to not go back to them the following week. In the Wind Jammer many of the hot foods were cold and cold foods were warm. They were often out of ice on both sides. They were often out of certain sodas in the self serve. The ship is older which we understand but the outlets in the cabin ...

Food was absolutely dreadful, very poor and not a great selection we honestly struggled even in the buffet. We found the dining room staff were good but the guys seating us were aloof and often sent us to very poorly situated tables such as behind the wait staff table even though throughout the meal there were many tables beautifully situated, it really surprised us. In the buffet we found the ...

The splendor of Italy (by bus)

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Rhapsody of the Seas

I want to preface my review by stating that we don't care particularly for travel by bus, or "motor coach" as it is cutely described in the fine print. We especially don't like travelling by bus with our 18 month old child. Well if you pick this cruise, be prepared to travel by bus, a lot. The Itinerary Let's start with the obvious - this "Venice" cruise, marketed as starting in Venice ...

Poor entertainment. Cruise director not great and daily activities were poor. Ship had new carpet but that is it. Breakfast in main dining room was SLOW and COLD when served. Lunch and dinner good in dining room. Room was an outside (3546) the drawers were falling apart had to be fixed twice in 2 weeks. If you choose beds together you can hardly get around the beds without hitting yourself. No ...

Terrible breakfast experience, really bad coffee. Activities a joke. Trivia twice in morning overlapped so could only play in one. Food cold, very poor service except at dinner. Two arrogant cocky young men did Trivia. Spoke with heavy accent, could not understand them, answers wrong, some stupid questions. Overall bad experience. Times kept changing, locations changed. No entertainment one ...

This was our first trans-Atlantic cruise so we were very excited and a little nervous. We enjoyed every minute of the trip! The staff was attentive and very friendly. The food was way above average. The fellow passengers were lovely people. And most important, the seas were calm throughout the journey! As vast majority of our fellow travelers were seasoned cruisers and I heard that about 80% had ...

A tale of two cruises

We recently booked a back to back cruise on Rhapsody of the Seas. The first segment was transatlantic, Tampa FL to Barcelona. The second from Barcelona to Venice. In fact, these were really two separate cruises. Segment 1 - The Tampa-Barcelona leg of the cruise started out extremely well. Boarding in Tampa was a breeze and we were on board and having lunch in no time. The sea days were very ...

Overall a wonderful cruise, but with a few complaints

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Rhapsody of the Seas

This was our first cruise on Royal Caribbean--having been on Holland America (3-star Mariners), NCL, Celebrity and Carnival. We liked the itinerary and the timing was right for us. We booked 21 nights which was sold as part of a package, but turned out to be basically two cruises, back to back: A TransAtlantic out of Tampa, and then a week in the Mediterranean ending up in Venice. Another recent ...
