As seasonal cruisers, we decided on the Cunard Queen Victoria due to its wonderful itinerary to the French Polynesian Islands plus Australia and New Zealand. We had not visited these ports before. Yes, the ship is magnificent. It is a magnificent structure, with a grand and beautiful fitout in the public areas that makes you feel very special. The facilities onboard are generally first class EXCEPT FOR THE INTERNET which had over 300 people screaming with frustration at its inadequacy and dropout rate. Embarkation at San Francisco was not too well organized. As everyone joining Queen Victoria (over 1000 passengers) seemed to arrive at the same time, the queue started on the pavement well outside the terminal building. after about an hour, we arrived on board just in time to have some lunch.
