I took this 32-day b2b in order to do two complete transits of the Panama Canal, one from each direction. It did not disappoint.
The ship – All I can say is wow! The Silver Nova is a brand-new ship with a beautiful layout and décor. It was a small ship, easy to get around, did not feel crowded anywhere. The artwork was beautiful. It had all kinds of interesting design features. The public ...
Previously cruised all the destination. On another cruise line so thought we would try silversea. This was a complete disappointment from a food and experience point of view. This was the worst food with one exception. The pizza dining on deck 11.
Entertainment was so repetitive and dull.
Crew and staff made it bearable.
Nothing like 6 star line, more like 2 star. Service in ...
Silversea psssengers expect a luxury cruise and for the most part we received that. Beautiful ship and well designed. All the cabins on one side and all the restaurants on the other for a quiet cabin. Good choice of included tours for this unique Caribbean itinerary. A few minor issues accommodating the disabled such as my spouse but this was due to Caribbean infrastructure so be sure to double ...
We sailed with Regent Seven Seas in January and had a direct comparison.
Cost of cruise was very similar on both lines .Best part SS was the cabin and butler .They did not provide food requests we emailed in January due to Health and medical issues yet they acknowledged the email and confirmed the food would be on board my husband is diabetic.Food was less than mediocre we could not get into ...
Everything about this cruise was very very good . That’s not to say I liked everything or wouldn’t have preferred little things a bit different but on the whole a superb experience . Staff , food , service , comfort , surroundings were all extremely good .
There will always be those who pick holes and those people will always find a hole to pick . But to complain about not having a pizza ...
We paid £187 pp. per day for the cruise - a lot less than what the luxury cruise lines charge - but not worth it.
The ship itself is OK. Quite new, spaceous and well maintained. The cabins are large and clean with good size balconies and bathrooms with a shower stall and an ample tub.
However “the product” (food, service and entertainment) is definitely low budget.
Low budget food ...
We have sailed on multiple high end cruise lines including the old Crystal, Regent and the former Silversea. We are in the owner’s suite, which is the top of the line. The room is the high point; only negatives are high step ups to the bathrooms and a shower door installed upside down so you have to bend down to the floor to open it from the inside.
Butler is well meaning and tries hard but not ...
We booked this cruise leaving in January 9 months prior because we like the Owner's Suites and knew we needed to grab those while available. We had fond memories of 2 other Silversea cruises; particularly the butlers we became close with and the food and wine on board. We boarded the ship in Barbados which started things off slightly less than streamline. There were two seperate buses we had to ...
My wife and I started cruising with Seabourn in 1999 a few years before Carnival aquired them. We achieved diamond status while watching Carnival slowly choking the life out of the brand with budget cuts. We left Seabourn at the doorstep to the hospice. We weren’t around for the funeral. Carnival recently tried sell the corpse but nobody wanted to buy it. They have resorted to selling off the ...
This was our second Silversea cruise and our second time on the Silver Dawn. We liked departing from Barbados to avoid the sea days from Florida but the actual port facility in Bridgetown is more industrial and less convenient for cruising with two shuttle bus rides – one to a warehouse building for check in and another to the actual ship. Other than that, the embarkation (and disembarkation) ...
