Hmmn. The good - Great service by the crew who work hard to keep us all happy. Good food overall in the main restaruant, though I think Carnival do a far better job at the bistro. Chops Grill was fantastic at breakfast. No passnegrs were to be seen at Johnny Rockets. Those who went reported back on bad food. The pools were great.. This is one thing RC have all over Carnival. The pools are ...

We boarded in Singapore fairly seamlessly and boarded the ship only to find that none of the cabins were available for several hours due to a norovirus outbreak necessitating the entire ship to be fumigated. And for the entire cruise the thorough cleaning regime continued. It was a relief to see RCI taking sanitation extremely seriously. We had cabin #1858, a panoramic window cabin on deck 12 and ...

They couldn't get it right!

This was our first ever cruise. We were advised that embarkation would be late due to the ship arriving in the port of Singapore with norovirus. The Explorer was duly sanitized and boarding commenced for us at 2.45 pm instead of the former nominated time of 12 noon. Upon receiving advice that our cabin was ready we made our way down to deck nine only to find that our Sea Pass cards would not ...

Do NOT buy internet - it is not unlimited access, it is hit and miss more miss than hit no matter which way you purchase it. The staff do not care at all that the internet product is not fit for purpose. The prices on this ship are extraordinary as everything is charged in American dollar. The ship interior was dull, stateroom was nice. Gastro outbreak prior to embarkation but staff were ...

Cabin 7206. Forward just under the bridge. Great cabin. Had 2 large ceiling to floor windows. Nice and bright. Felt a little more movement than the rest of the ship, but not uncomfortable. Cabin location was very private. Would reserve this cabin again if possible. Embarkation in Singapore very slow due to Singapore Immigration. Disembarkation in Fremantle a breeze. Thanks to Aussie ...

Cruise was part of the relocation of the boat from England to Sydney. Cabin was great being one of those built in the refurbishment in January Entertainment was good particularly the Aussie Boys and Hayden Smith and his wife. The promenade shows were also very good. The piano player in the Schooner Bar was also good particularly given the distractions he had to deal with. Windjammers ...

My last cruise was in 2013 with the Celebrity Solstice so I am comparing the two cruises, as the ships are of similar size My greatest pleasure when sailing is playing in the casino. I was aware that half the casino was designated "smoking" however I believed there would be partitions to separate the smoking zone. Not so! From the second night of the cruise I suffered sinus problems and this is ...

This was our 14th cruise and 2nd on RCCL. (an 18 nighter and a 10 nighter) The staff in the most part were great but unfortunately many are being used by Head office to endlessly push the drink and restaurant packages instead of serving the guests. The motto seems to be make money, not serve guests. Because of that attitude service was lacking, particularly in the bars. I felt sorry for the ...

Firstly, I have cruised over 200 nights and if you are a new cruiser reading this my suggestion would be to forget all the smoke and mirrors and work out whatever cabin you choose, the net cost per night. I will explain at the end. We had a wonderful cruise, RCCL always have lots of outdoor activities such as wave rider, mini golf, rock climbing , Basketball etc etc and they maintain there ...

We did lots of research on the internet before making a decision to go cruising and found one, (ie Singapore to Fremantle) that suited us. There was trepidation about being on such a large ship with so many fellow passemgers but this soon evaporated when we emabarked in Singapore. The Explorer of the Seas is great and met and bettered all of our expectations. Our stateroom on deck 8 overlooking ...
