Terrible room and no consideration of complaints

We chose this cruise as it was part of a package through eCruising and it sailed into Sydney from Singapore. From the beginning of the cruise tthings did not go well. The organisation (transfers) to the port were poorly organised. This is not Royal Caribbean’s fault but Ecruising’s . We waited at a very crowded port with no drinks, food and inadequate seating for several hours and were not ...

I boarded the Ovation in Singapore as the 2nd half of a land and sea package - Nepal then onto Singapore for a cruise back to Australia. I actually got off the ship in Adelaide yesterday instead of continuing onto Sydney. In addition two lots of people near my cabin got off in Perth, they had paid to cruise to Sydney, I think this says a lot. This was my fourth trip with RCCL and it will be ...

Large modern ship with pizzazz, but is disjointed.

The Ovation is a large modern ship with numerous activities built in. All over the ship there are things to do, or that's how it might seem. The ship appears to have everything a cruiser would want. It has the usual RCI flow rider, rockwall (poor), many pools, Spas(Whirlpools) and a wonderful Solarium as well as the Seaplex, a marvelous area in which nearly every active sport is played ...

Cruise director phoned it in

we wanted to experience the new best thing but were disappointed. the main dinning rooms lacked grandeur and a feeling of luxury. Public spaces were to small and poorly located. If you don't get there early don't bother. Schooner bar for example is the same size as smaller ships. The cruise director was a little flat and his staff lacked personality and engagement, seemed to want to get things ...

Disappointing to say the least

We joined the Ovation of the Seas in Singapore, and check in was well organised, it took only 45 minutes to go through immigration and into our stateroom. We were happy with our balcony room, on deck 11, plenty of storage. Luggage took some time to arrive and one item was missing for some reason, but eventually retrieved by us from deck 2. From then on we were in for some unpleasant surprises. ...

One of the best cruises of our nearly 40 we have been on

Don't understand all the naysayers the crew were excellent, entertainment was good and there was always something on so much so that both my wife and I couldn't believe it had finished. Sure there are cost savings everywhere but we are finding that with all ships and for what we paid you have to expect it. They had trouble with gastric but we have been on other ships that have had sickness and ...

Nice new ship, good service but food needs improving

the ship is new and has some quirky new features (bionic bar, the big arm that takes you into the air high above the ship by the way this is free) but they still allow smoking on the pool deck near the centre pools and kids area which most passengers cannot believe as you have to walk through this stinking area to get to the wind jammers if you are coming from the front of the ship, RCCL should ...

We wanted to see the new ship for ourselves first impressions were all good, new ship, new layout, fresh, clean stylish. cabin layouts are a clever use of space, same size as other RC ships but the cupboards are built in around the bed so the rooms look and feel much bigger. clear plastic shower screens were great as you no longer feel so enclosed even though the size is about the ...

Poorly managed ship

Despite being a great ship, the Ovation is let down by the poor management and associated service. It should be a jewel in the crown, rather than deadweight on the anchor. The first sign that things were amiss was the handling of bags after boarding. Every cruise I have been on bags usually appear a couple hours after lunch or the late afternoon at worst. RC managed to ferret our bags away ...

Loved the entertainment. Really top shows ( much better quality than Princess line). Lots to do for all age groups. Food was great. Celebrated my sister's birthday in Wonderland restaurant. Absolutely sensational. Loved the roller skating and bumper cars but times were too short and shouldve been open much longer especially as they use these actives so heavily in their promo. As we cruised ...
