We are avid travellers and have been on numerous cruises including many with Oceania.
Here's an overview of our most recent cruise with Oceania on the ship Regatta.
The food is very good when it comes to your table hot. There were a few times in the dining room when the food was luke warm and we were served food on plates and bowls that were chipped or damaged. The buffet food is hit or ...
We were on the Regatta from Australia to New Zealand, Fiji, Samoa x 2 and French Polynesia. My feedback is as follows:
1. Staff - very friendly and generally eager to please. However, tend to be a number who lack training, so service is variable.
2. Cabins - please don't pretend they are state rooms, it insults the passengers! Generally basic, but good enough, but shower area is tiny. Bigger ...
Overall: This was somewhat disappointing cruise that did not live up to the hype.
Embarkation: A breeze. Easiest boarding ever. No lines, knowledgeable people.
Cabin: We had a B-1 veranda stateroom. The room itself was fine. Flat screen TV, although not much to watch. (You could watch “Titanic” if ship disaster movies are your thing.) Adequate underbed storage for our soft-sided ...
We’ve never enjoyed a cruise so much before!
Good points
It starts with the ship’s modest size with only a few hundred passengers. We arrived at the port at 1:30 and were in our cabin 15 minutes later. We got one of the new midship cabins and were impressed by its roomy bathroom, especially the shower.
The food was surprisingly good - much better than at a couple of fancy Tahitian ...
The Paul Gauguin is a smaller cruise ship which enables it to go places where the large vessels can't.
Although it is nearly 40 years old a major refurb in 2021 was done well and has since been maintained so the ship overall, cabins and public areas present very well.
The scenery is spectacular particularly viewed from the pool deck with Pina Colada in hand.
Staff are well trained apart ...
We’ve been on over three dozen Princess cruises and until recently we didn’t have any reason to stray from them. But the dream itinerary that we wanted to do was no longer offered by Princess. We booked the 10 day French Polynesia cruise a couple of times with Princess during Covid and it was cancelled. The final cancellation was because they sold the Pacific Princess and Princess no longer had ...
I've always wanted to visit Hawaii. This cruise made it possible to go to three of the islands in comfort. Our cabin on 5th deck was delightful. Plenty of storage, a full closet, and the best designed bathroom of all the many cruises I've taken. One possible improvement could be with the shower door. It tended to open when the ship rocked. We tried several of the eating options; eating mostly ...
This was our first Regent cruise. We have previously sailed with Viking,Virgin, Celebrity, Holland, MSC, NcL and Carnival mostly in suites. We are childless couple in our sixties and started cruising in 2018.
We are active and enjoy great food and drink. We always enjoy ourselves.
This cruise was disappointing from the very start. The ship is older but not well maintained. The crew was ...
Regent is going considered a six-star line, but as an experienced cruisers we found this to be a five-star ship.
Here are a few notes (issues and highlights by category):
Accommodations: Exceptional suites, extremely lean and despite their age are very well maintained, albeit with a somewhat outdated color palette. Very comfortable bedding, ample closet space, shower and tub separated, ...
Overall a great experience. Lost Moorea due to weather and Nuku Hiva was a waste of fuel. Should have added more time in Bora Bora. Ship is old but kept up pretty nicely. Air conditioning worked perfectly. Crew is great led by Ray, cruise director, who was everywhere.
Boarding: This was a mess with a long line as everyone seemed to board at the same time. Conversely, the disembarkment was ...
