First time on Princess, first time doing a Pacific Coastal Cruise

Review for Star Princess to U.S.A.

This was our first time on Princess and first time doing a Pacific Coastal Cruise. We have cruised with Celebrity three times and six times with Holland America. The Star Princess is an older ship, a little tired, but overall very nice. The atrium was lovely. Embarkation was not great. They had an outbreak of Noro Virus on the previous cruise, so were doing a thorough sanitizing of the ...

Just little "aggravations". Perhaps the worst coffee in the world. Not only in every dining room but at the International Coffee Bar as well. The first thing we did when we got off the ship was to seek a decent cup. Really yucky coffee every day...every meal. Dining Rooms are attractive and Dining Staff is superb. Professional without 'being your best friend' type. Food is fine. But ...

A little tarnished Star

Just finished the west coast cruise, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, LA, San Diego, Ensenada cruise on board the Princess Star, 3/14 - 3/21. I was writing my thoughts on the tour and quickly realized that I was heading into "War and Peace" territory, so I've revamped. My thoughts in truncated form: Food in buffet: Has greatly gone down in choices and lots of food that should be hot were cold ...

Five Stars for the Star - Superb Cruise for Children

I've cruised many times on many cruise lines. The Star Princess West Coast cruise out of San Francisco was just excellent and deserves five stars. I would particularly recommend it for families with children. I cruised with family including 2-1/2 year old twins. The ship staff could not have been better. The dining room staff really helped us out to the point of walking the kids around the dining ...

My wife and I have about 30 cruises between us on Carnival and NCL, I really like NCL but we decided this time to go with Princess because we didn't have to fly anyway to get to the ship. 1 hour drive to the port was great. The New Cruise ship terminal at SF is awesome except for having to wait in line outside with no cover, going to be pretty bad if raining or a cold day, luckily it was a nice ...

Star Princess, California Coastal, Oct 11 - 18, Cabin C-502

We sailed on Saturday, October 11, which happened to be the Saturday of Fleet Week in S.F this year... Blue Angels, etc. We got to watch the aerial acrobatics from the top deck of the ship after arriving early... prior to sailing. Amazing air-show, great vantage point! There were passengers on board that said they chose this cruise in part due to the departure date and the Fleet Week show vantage ...

Flew into LA from Canada 2 days prior to sailing. We are a couple in our late 40's both work full time and wanted to chill out on the coast, drink some California wine and relax. This was our 16th cruise, Have cruised with Princess, Carnival, RCI, Norweg & Holland. We like to travel off season. Great deals and not so crowded. Stayed at The Westin in Long Beach, great deal on price line. Walking ...

Princess Pacific Coastal - A runner-up, not a Star

Review for Star Princess to U.S.A.

My DW and I are veterans of thirteen cruises. This is our first booking with Princess and we were eager to see how Princess stacked up to our favorite cruise lines. We selected the Pacific Coastal itinerary because of proximity to home and the ports of call with only one at-sea day. We boarded the Star Princess on a rainy day in Vancouver. The process was fairly easy and boarding started at noon ...

"We sailed on the STAR Princess for the 3rd time as a last minute getaway. This was the California Coastal Cruise to San Francisco, Santa Barbara, San Diego and Ensenada round trip from Los Angeles. With the exception of a few "short timer" staff with the wrong attitude we thoroughly enjoyed our cruise. Our cabin steward left after 2 days upon our arrival and was replaced with an outstanding ...

Fun coastal cruise

Arrived a day early so we could see Vancouver. We stayed at the Marriott Pinnacle which was a very convenient location. There were 8 of us that sailed together. The embarkation was one of the easiest we have ever encountered in our cruise experiences and we were soon on board and could go to our cabins. As we came on board, 4 of us were directed to the front of the ship and 4 to the rear. I asked ...
