I chose this cruise due to it's Itinerary and my up until now good experience with Princess - this cruise has changed that! Was looking forward to trying the new ship- but was disappointed.Crew were fantastic but there were so many issues with the ship and our cabin that I would not recommend it. Too big- too many things happening in piazza- Princess theatre too small- couldn't hold enough guests- ...
As it was a new ship we thought we would see what it was like. Cabins much smaller than on other smaller ships in the fleet. Our balcony was too small for us to sit on. We had a mini suite & are still waiting to be greeted by our cabin steward & receive our complimentary glass of bubbly. Food, service, entertainment very average. When the CEO boarded the ship in Auckland parts of the ship were ...
Not my first cruise over 300 days in last 5 years. But my first Princess and probably my last. Have cruise Carnival to Cunard and Princess is bottom of the pack. The buffet is a diaster area with cold food and a collection of pots and pans from a thrift store. They use foil on top of pans trying to keep food warm (very tacky) but all food on the buffet is cold. There is good seating in buffet and ...
I had a great experience a year ago on a Princess Cruise in the Mediterranean. But this one was disappointing.
The food on this cruise was repetitive and uninteresting. Chefs say this is a new corporate directive. In addition, Princess did not accommodate lactose intolerance or shellfish allergy. This is very surprising since the average age on board was about 65. Lactose Intolerance is most ...
We wanted to see Australia & NZ is why we booked this. We had been on 2 other Princess cruises, but were smaller ships, and many years ago.
FOOD- I am a vegan & they did accommodate me, although when I booked they had a smoothie bar, but took it out for our cruise. VERY DISAPPOINTED! My husband liked the food & sometimes we waited a long time for dinner.
SHIP-TO BIG & TO MANY ...
This was the Majestic Princess, 10/10/2018 sailing Australia/ New Zealand.
First, the good:
1. The crew and service was first rate. I was inspired by these hard working people with fantastic attitudes. No criticism in this review should take away from them.
2. The ship is gorgeous and our cabin (E726) was amazing.
3. We loved the itinerary. The cruise itself was a fantastic ...
Our overall impression is one of disappointment. Nothing about the large ship experience can be considered to enhance the customer's enjoyment. Compared to a "small" ship having a guest population of about 1200, our experience on the Majestic Princess included sub-standard food (cool or pre-packaged), and an abyssmal disembarkation experience in Auckland. The day of disembarkation cannot be ...
This was our 2nd princess family cruise and we were very excited for the new ship. Sadly our expectations were not met. We were looking forward to the indoor pool (as we were well aware outdoor swimming traveling to New Zealand probably wouldn’t happen). I called princess 3 times to confirm the use of the Hollywood conservatory for children, and was reassured that it will be.
As soon as we ...
We chose to do this cruise as it went to South Pacific Islands and being a new ship. Was a huge wow factor when seeing it from the dock. Way to many rooms and not enough areas to sit. Full of the elderly not recommended for the younger crowds as nothing to do. Market place food was always cold. Princess has declined over the years very disappointing. Will be choosing a different cruise line to go ...
We went on the Majestic Princess out of Australia in Sep 2018. The ship was relatively new and was well fitted out, the food was good, the staff were generally great and the entertainers were fantastic.
However, the amenities such as the Pacific Theatre, the buffet and the piazza did not cater for the large number of passengers. We had trouble finding a seat in the buffet and we found ...
