Despite cool damp weather the quality of the young boat and its staff was obvious.
Our cabin, port side, going down river kept its view when alongside.
The exterior and top deck are not well presented/decorated.
Tour guides/coaches were excellent (we enjoyed the inclusive tours).
Our cabin was most attractive, (with large shower cubicle) and so well serviced twice a day we left a tip ...
Basel to Amsterdam…an area we had not explored…last time on Uniworld was 2008….much improved since then, the cabin was a suite on Princess deck 4**, while pricey we enjoyed all the little perks like the well stocked frig, snacks, loads of storage for a river boat plus the little balcony. Tho for the most part the weather was typical of that time of year, cloudy followed by rain and more cloudy…the ...
We traveled on the SS Antoinette from Amsterdam to Basel on October 2-9, 2022. The ship is decorated in Uniworld unique décor that is very ornate. Our room 314 was nice and had comfortable beds, ample storage, nice sized bathroom and worked well for our stay. I would liked to have had more USB type outlets. Just one outlet next to bed. There is a tv mounted with many stations, music, movies, ...
We were originally on the Amsterdam to Basel 8/21. This cruise canceled, due to historic low water levels. I had been calling and emailing Uniworld to ask if the trip was going. We were informed that there was rain forecasted and that the sailing was a "go". We flew to London a few days prior and decided to take Eurostar, as we had heard of the horror stories of the Amsterdam airport. The night ...
My husband and I just completed the Uniworld “Splendors of Egypt & The Nile” twelve-day cruise/tour of Egypt. I would like to elaborate on our experience, which was for the most part very positive.
EGYPTOLOGIST
I’ll start with the most important element of this trip, our Egyptologist. His performance was crucial to the success of the trip. Without a qualified guide the journey would ...
We took a trip recently on this ship from Amsterdam to Basel, our thrip trip on Uniworld. Although the ship was beautiful and the crew were terrific, it may be our last such trip with this company because we found, especially at dinner that the dining room was so loud. We complained and were told that others have raised the same concerns.
Part of the reason may be that the company has a policy ...
We had great flights and connections from a very cold Mid-western winter and came to Cairo in the evening. We had been told that we would be met by UniWorld rep as we came off the plane, but we kept on walking and just met him at the customs. As we had e visas, it was easy to enter and went to the baggage claim. We had to wait for quite some time before everyone in our group had collected their ...
We have been on 2 other Uniworld river cruises in Europe prior to this Egypt trip.
The sights were spectacular and we met lots of nice people. A couple of things you should know if you are looking at this trip.
- The Abu Simbel trip was not $295 as we were told before the trip, but $324. This is a must trip.
- As River Heritage Club members, we each received complimentary laundry, ...
Being out 40th anniversary we chose to splurge and get the Royal Suite (202). While it was definitely bigger, and had more impressive views, it was a big disappointment (and not worth the expensive upgrade). The shower leaked horrendously. The soft furnishings were warn and in need of replacing (drapes, furniture, carpets), the marble floor was outdated and generaly there was a poor fit and finish ...
We thoroughly enjoyed our Avignon to Lyon cruise on the Uniworld S.S. Catherine. We picked this itinerary first and then selected the cruise line our TA thought would offer the best experience.
There were more hits than misses on this cruise. Overall the cruise was well managed by Uniworld with the total ship experience, itinerary, food, excursions and crew at the top of the experience ...
