"Prices for shore excursions on ship were 30 to 40 per cent above online independent vendors so suggest you do your homework, since often the same vendor sells trip to cruise line and they up the price Last tip.One of our bags did not arrive after sailing and called guest services who put out an alert to service staff who found within thirty minutes on another deck...."Read More

October 2023 9 day Hawaiian Cruise on Royal Caribbean Ovation of the Seas - NOT A 9 DAY HAWAIIAN CRUISE

This is by far and away the WORST cruise we have ever been on and we cruise a couple times each year. We purchased this cruise in June of 2023. This was prior to the Maui Fires. The cruise was to leave Vancouver and start the 6 day Pacific crossing, however due to the Maui fires the two days/nights we were to spend in Lahaina were off the itinerary. Instead Royal Caribbean made the decision ...

My mom chose this cruise for me, and I had been on it before, so despite me trying to have little to no expectations I got more excited as it approached, and prepared and packed gleefully hoping it would be as good as before the pandemic. Leading up to the big embarkation day was a bit stressful with COVID tests and going into another country, not to mention packing smartly and everything ...

Oct. Sept. 29th, my husband and I boarded the Ovation out of Vancouver and ending in Sydney Australia. It started out badly as it took over 1.5 hours to get on due to the long queue in Security. The worst part of our cruise was the food. From the menu in the dining room to the choices in the Windjammer. What was available in the Windjammer was below average for taste and variety and those were ...

Great Getaway on the Repositioning Cruise to Hawaii

This was a 9 night cruise with 5 days at sea. Beginning in Vancouver with stops in Seattle, Maui and Oahu where we got off, its final journey was to Australia. Ship was beautiful, about 65% full and still felt a little crowded though I do not think we waited in line for anything. Being a Diamond Members we have sailed on many different ships, this Quantum Class ship is really geared for ...

Worst cruise ever

I live in Vancouver. I wanted a cruise that I wouldn’t have to fly for and a nice ship with great amenities and cool things to do so I picked Ovation. I also loved that it was an 8 day sailing so I would get an extra day, little did I know I’d regret that! Embarkation was smooth, but from the people I met thru a group, half were asked for their Covid tests and half were not? Right off the ...

First the positive. Service crew and dining staff were excellent and caring. Balcony cabin was spacious and comfortable. Entertainment was quite good and lots to do on ship. One of our bags did not arrive after sailing and called guest services who put out an alert to service staff who found within thirty minutes on another deck. Kudos to them Now the negative. Worst food I have had on a ...

Worst Cruise Ever!

I chose this cruise because of price and cruise itinerary. When I booked I was told that the ship would not be sailing at full capacity. This was not true. The ship sailed at full capacity and you could tell as there was not enough crew. With the exception of Izumi and Jamie’s Italian, specialty restaurants, the food was horrible at best! Entertainment was the best thing that Ovation of ...

Alaska has always been on my bucket list and we found a great deal so off we went. Embarkation was seamless so first impression was great. Enthusiasm was greatly diminished when upon reaching our cabin, our sea pass cards (room key) did not work. It took 3 trips to guest services and one and a half hours later to resolve the issue. Dinner time at the main dining room was a disaster as the ...

Booked this cruise as a last minute replacement for a Holland America cruise that kept getting changed... Looked like a great deal. Little did we know that the "great deal" meant poor food service and lack of many amenities. I have been on nearly a dozen cruises on various cruise lines, and if it weren't for the ports and scenery of Alaska, I would have asked for my money ...

Skip cruising this year, wait 2 years for cruise industry to make a full comeback

The cruise industry is in a tough spot, they have had to somehow survive the last 2 years with virtually no income stream. Right now as they are preparing to bring everything back, they are also suffering from staffing shortages. Prior to our cruise, we had researched what activities would be on this ship. From shows like Pixels and a Beautiful Dream, to activities such as archery, wine tasting, ...
