1) The 106-passenger ship is too small for “Exploring the World in Comfort”. Standard “staterooms” are really just bedrooms with no sitting area and an average of 20” on each side of the bed. We took the Torgil for a cruise on the Douro. I commend the staff who executed the Viking program with professionalism and efficiency. I also will say that the cabin was quite nice although I would have liked the bird poop and other dirt to have been washed off the veranda.
Beyond that I have little positive to say. The scenery was redundant. And the excursions required lengthy bus trips. ...

The cruise up the Douro river was nice but every stop had a LONG bus ride to get to all of the shore excursion towns & destinations. This included the bus ride from Lisbon to Porto. I also found it strange that the transpiration started in Lisbon but ended in Porto. For those of us who book our own airfare to and from cruises, it presented a bit of a challenge.
