Very disappointed by handling of docking in Darwin

Review for Voyager of the Seas to South Pacific

We chose this cruise, even though it was in the school holidays, as a reward for our son going into Year 11. We have been on Voyager of the Seas before and enjoyed the activities- FlowRider and ice skating etc and also chose the destinations that were best for snorkeling. As there were 3 of us and we had a lot of snorkeling gear we chose a balcony cabin with an extra bed (8268). The extra bed ...

I’ve been on Ovation which I found too big, too busy and a bit like a Westfield shopping centre vibe and with over 4000 passengers, the queues for everything were horrendous. The Voyager was so much more fun! It’s newly refurbed or ‘amplified’ to have more fun features & we found it had just the variety and atmosphere that we love! The fittings and style were lovely and our fave bars were High ...

One of the reasons we chose this cruise is that we had never been to Darwin. Well. we still haven't! The Exit deck was changed from Deck 1 (as was widely advertised) to deck 4, and the ramp provided was incredibly steep. I hired a scooter for the express purpose of seeing Darwin, but it would not have been safe to take it down the incline, nor would I have been able to ride it back up. ...

Review for Voyager of the Seas to Asia

We've done a fair amount of cruising, all on Holland America. We were intrigued by the idea of our first visit to Vietnam being aboard this Royal Caribbean "Voyager of the Seas". I guess we've been spoiled by HAL. RCL falls short in so many ways. Boarding at Singapore was well-organized and moved along well. One of the first indications about our RCL experience - we were asked (no, hassled) ...

I would suggest that anyone who gets turned off by the negative reviews on this site read between the lines of the review, Yes the Voyager externally needs a repaint and is going to dry dock around Sept '19, However once on board all is forgotten and the fun begins. If you board from 12 midday you will be asked to go to the Windjammer buffet initially as your cabin will not be ready till around ...

Disappointing

Unfortunately this ship does not live up to the standards of other Royal Caribbean ships! They even ran out of pool towels on a port day! So many disappointing elements including standard of service received from stateroom attendant and main dining restaurant staff. The offerings received from the Crown and Anchor Society were not to the same standard as on other ships. Normally when we ...

I am not a frequent cruiser and this is my first time on board VOTS as I wanted to try a new cruise liner. First day on board - I arrived about 1pm as stated in my pre-check in and Q about 45 mins for boarding. Not sure if the pre-check before 2 days helped as we all Q the same line anyway. Due to a mistake by their ground staff at the counter the pass given to my elder member was mixed up ...

Voyager of the Seas by Royal Caribbean. First the good bit, the cabin was quite good with a balcony and the cruise was only 5 days. The service was very good. The bad bits, all the rest in some semblance of order, there was no free WiFi, they wanted $16 each day, they charged $29 per couple service charge every day and also an 18% service charge on all drinks at the bar and at meal ...

Never again on Voyager

We have been on 5 or 6 RC cruises previously and thoroughly enjoyed every one of them, so much so that we have stayed with them for our last series of cruises. We have been on well over 10 cruises previously on a range of other cruise lines as well as Royal Carribean. This was our first and last on Voyager of the Seas. Embarkation was a disaster. Crew were directing passengers all over the ...
