My experience in the cruise with food, beverage, staff and extra tours were good. The Chef and the whole kitchen team were ok and very friendly.
Nevertheless I have no assistance for my own visit in Mykonos first port we stopped. I asked for a recommendation from the tour assistance team about a transport taxi driver or something like this to go to a public beach but I didn’t get any.

I love Windstar’s small-boat (148 passengers) approach to cruising, but I found this particular boat, their flagship, to be lacking and I was also dismayed by several avoidable missteps by the ship’s management.
The destinations are a wonderful experience. The Panama Canal, Panama City and Costa Rica in January are absolutely must-do experiences. The destinations are 5+.
Windstar (really ...
I chose the cruise for two specific reasons - sailing ship and voyage highlights. Third time on Wind Star, third time did not actually use the sails for sailing power. Per corporate, should not expect the masted ships to actually engage in sailing. Will be a very rare occurrence. Won't bother to book again. Secondly, voyage highlight was to visit Plitvice National Park in Croatia, but then ...
Very nice cruise--great destinations, most notably smaller islands where big ships couldn't go.
Kusadasi was wonderful--dinner at Ephesus was spectactular; food utterly unedible, but setting and light chamber music was extraordinary.
Three big problems. Fumes filled the second and first decks on Monday--might have been paint, but more likely adhesives or sealant. Terrible, but no one on ...
We chose this cruise because of the date, destination and my birthday.
Our documentation stated the cruise left from Edinburg and the address on the ticket was for Edinburgh; however, when we gave our ticket and documentation to the cab driver, he took us to the port. When we arrived, we had to find a harbor master to locate ship-then we discovered we were to leave from Dundee. 75 miles away! ...
DO NOT BOOK this directly with Wind Star. Once they reeled you in, they never treated you like the customer. We found out other guests paid way less when they booked last minute. We paid top dollar only five months before the cruise and offered us nothing except a small credit to be used only on the ship. Nothing compared to the 66% less than other passengers paid. Moreover, when Wind Star ...
Our first trip on Windstar . We have been on the Star Clippers at least 4 times and our Travel Agent suggested this when our trip arrangements could not match . Whilst we we enjoyed the destinations Athens to Istanbul and the Greek Islands the Windstar has some issues. These are old but refurbished boats that have had a " powder puff". The cabins are very nice and well laid out with a nice ...
As veteran cruisers we're always looking for new ports & new cruising "experiences". Sure, we'd been to Rome before, but how much can you see in 8 hours... this time things would be different... maybe even a little "too" different in some respects.
Admittedly our 3 day days our Athens Greece "pre-cruise" was anticipated as a "warm-up" to the real thing... a seven night sailing adventure ...
Having heard many good things about the WindStar, and having received many brochures and emails touting the Windstar difference, I was looking forward to our cruise from Athens through the Greek Isles to Istanbul. We also had friends who sailed on this same ship in Sept. 2006 and were very enthusiastic about their cruise.
Unfortunately, this cruise was our least favorite. In fact, we can say ...
This was our 3rd cruise on Windstar, Barbados & Tahiti were the first two. My husband and i were so impressed with the past Windstar cruises that we vowed to only cruise with windstar for the rest of our lives. This vow has been severely broken since our Costa Rica cruise this past December of 06. Windstar has really fallen in all areas and standards! To begin we understood that children were ...
