Family cruise to celebrate our 45th anniversary, our daughter and son in law's 10th anniversary, and our granddaughter's 1st birthday. Our 6 year old grandson came along for the ride. We started with 2 days in Cocoa Beach at the Best Western. Good accommodations and location close to beach and pier. They arrange private transport to port for the 6 of us, leaving the hotel at noon. We were through embarkation on board before 1PM. No real issues here.

We had 2 D1 connecting cabins aft on deck 10. No real noise complaints from above decks. Roomy cabins with pull out sofa to accommodate grandson. RCI provided pack and play unit for granddaughter. Experienced higher than normal engine vibration (we had been on Liberty of the Seas in January and had not felt such vibration). Word on board that FOS is scheduled for dry dock in December. Hopefully related to resolving this issue. Stateroom attendant was adequate. Over the 2 cruises he constantly delivered information about events after the event had occurred. He did keep the cabins clean and was considerate of the children. We felt he was not comfortable with English language.

We felt food was better this time than in January on LOS. There seemed to be more attention to flavors and seasoning. Dining staff were very good in dealing with our grandchildren. However, they were a little slow with service and did not seem to work well together. After the 1st day, the food preferences were for them were ready when we arrived. This was really driven by the Maitre D' as opposed to our wait staff. There were some downsides, the lamb shank and the fish were overcooked, but requested steak was served as we ordered and was very good.

Cabin Review

Spacious cabin connected to 1390. Accommodated our 2 grandchildren and our daughter and son in law. We had sufficient space to move about, especially with the balcony. Some higher than normal engine vibration for a cabin located on deck 10.
