We decided to book this cruise as an early 50th wedding anniversary celebration (we just passed our 48th anniversary) to take advantage of the reasonably good health we are enjoying now.
We couldn't be more pleased with our trip. We spent four days in France (that we arranged) ahead of the Viking cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam via the Viking Skadi. Everything about our trip was enjoyable; ...
We chose Viking on the recommendation of family and friends who have taken many Viking cruises. They all gave Viking terrific grades on everything from the Tour Director to the Dining & Stateroom staff. They weren't wrong!! The cruise was spectacular and we even had some snow flurries during our visits to the many Christmas markets in Germany, Austria and Hungary which made my wife very happy. ...
Viking reputation as #1 is well deserved. They do things right. Friendly and accommodating staff, GREAT cruise director Wesley, made it all very fun. Several servers learned our names and called us by name when they saw us. Front desk staff very helpful. Room purser, Andy, was friendly and efficient. Great guides in the towns except for one. On board entertainment mostly good. The glass blower ...
We were invited to travel with friends on this trip -Budapest to Amsterdam. We did the pretrip and post trip -extension on each ends of the cruise. I highly recommend arriving a few days in advance to enjoy the flavors and beauties of Budapest and stay to enjoy and explore Amsterdam. The Viking staff was excellent and made every part of our journey wonderful. Our Cruise Director - Wes - was over ...
The itinerary was very interesting. We loved the small German towns where we could walk around. We did a two day pre-trip in Budapest through Viking where we stayed at the Hilton. Viking had representation at the Hilton to help us navigate around. We did every included walking tour. Loved mingling with other guests. Did optional
Vienna concert which was too hot and too crowded.also did optional ...
After COVID-19 we wanted to take a cruise but not on a high capacity cruise ship. This river cruise made us fall in love with this type of cruising. We are totally hooked now and already looking at future river cruises with Viking.
The ship itself was so well laid-out and immaculate. The Sun Deck and Aquavit were both so much fun to relax. The two self-serve coffee stations always had ...
We wanted a non kids 2 week cruise in Europe and the Budapest to Amsterdam Viking trip filled the bill.Viking crew were always willing to do whatever you wanted. Enjoyed the more active excursions of hiking and bike riding along the river. Casual atmosphere , no fancy dressing or cabarets or casinos, perfect for us. We bought some wine on an excursion and the Viking bartender gave us a couple ...
Overall experience was so enjoyable. From embarkation in Budapest to leaving Amsterdam after our 2 day extension at the Pulitzer Hotel, I can't say enough about the service received from Viking. All the staff were friendly, helpful, efficient and seemed to really enjoy their jobs. Our room was a French Balcony which gave us a wonderful view of the countryside along the river route from huge ...
Nearly everything about our Viking experience was excellent - booking, meeting and transportation to/from airports, welcome on the ship, room accommodations, dining, shore excursions, Dominic our cruise director, super-friendly and helpful staff, and much more. Our first Viking cruise has probably ruined us from ever booking another cruise company.
The Grand European Tour was wonderful - the ...
I chose this cruise because of its itinerary. From Budapest to Amsterdam along the Danube, Mein and Rhine rivers was a truly incredible journey. So much history and art. The acommodations were like a 5 star hotel and the food was excellent. The program director was tailor made for the job. He was a treat. Looking forward to my next cruise with Viking!
The excursions that Viking has lined ...
