Have been on eight Viking cruises. Five river and three ocean but we prefer the river cruises. However, Viking has raised the prices to the point where we are doing other types of travel. Someday we hope to get back to Viking river cruises. Did not particularly care for Columbia. Since we had already visited half of the ports this cruise was probably a waste of our time and money. Would be ...
This was our third sailing on the Viking Sea, and my wife and I have become very fond of this spectacularly beautiful, well-designed, and immaculately-maintained ship! The staterooms are setup just right to accommodate our needs, the public spaces are excellent and abundant, and the crew seem uniformly happy and eager to please. The food and entertainment are very good, and the other amenities ...
We love Viking cruises and this one looked interesting. The island visits were really good and the included excursions were excellent. I can't say enough about the crew. Everything was very clean and the food was delicious. I would like to have a little more entertainment in the evenings after dinner but what they offered was quite entertaining. A young group formed just prior to sailing and ...
I went with a friend who had lost her husband and was going through the grieving process. The cruise was perfect for both of usas it gave her quiet time, crying time, and we still had fun too. I liked this cruise because it was not overcrowded. I did not have to save pool chairs, there were plenty available at all times. There were so many quiet places to read a good book and they were lovely. ...
We had been on a wonderful cruise on the same ship last year and LOVED it. The room was a nice size...all rooms have verandas. The fridge is stocked each day, the bathroom floor is heated, the staff is excellent, the food is exceptional! Love this cruise line because there are no theme nights, casinos, or children.
Our disappointment was with a couple of excursions with terrible guides. On ...
We wanted to celebrate our anniversary someplace slightly exotic, so the West Indies and South America seemed a good choice. The timing was right, the amenities were good, the price was affordable, and although we were new to Viking, we had friends and family who had been well pleased with the company.
It was nice to know that the ship would be in port an extra day in case we had difficulty ...
We were on the ship for 10 night South America and Caribbean. It was comfortable.
But excursions in Cartagena and San Martha Colombia were difficult due to lack of planning and street people trying to sale souvenirs. Curacao, Aruba and St Kitty we felt welcomed all the time and by tourist guides. Finally in San Juan PR we received a warmed welcome in any place we visited. Viking long walking ...
After cruising Viking, I can never go back to any other cruise line, and I have cruised with most of them.
The service was exceptional all of the time. You can’t fake sincerity, and all of the staff and crew seemed to genuinely and sincerely love their jobs.
Because of the smaller ships and fewer passengers, there was never a line for anything.
The food was amazing, the stateroom was ...
Caribbean in the fall, warm climate, quite getaway.
Excellent service, food, excursions, could say anything but a great time.
Pool service was great.
Entertaining movies outside, live music every night. Special drinks being served from time to time we’re awe.
Special dinners on the back pool deck we’re great. Food was awesome. Especially the Caribbean Bar B Que.
Treated like ...
We have sailed on Viking before, both river cruise and ocean cruise. We especially like the smaller ships of Viking with under 1000 guests. The ships themselves are beautifully designed and sleek looking with the Danish design. Cabins are normal size, nice furniture on balcony. Food is wonderful and you pay nothing extra for specialty restaurants and the food in all venues is above average. ...
