Our first trip on Windstar . We have been on the Star Clippers at least 4 times and our Travel Agent suggested this when our trip arrangements could not match . Whilst we we enjoyed the destinations Athens to Istanbul and the Greek Islands the Windstar has some issues. These are old but refurbished boats that have had a " powder puff". The cabins are very nice and well laid out with a nice bathroom, but very noise .we had paid extra to be on the second deck. Not worth it. The Breakfast was very good and the Evening meals had a good choice . However lunch was the same every day and a bit monotonous.

One complaint was that they were always trying to "sell" you additions either drinks or shore trips all the time, thus " clipping the ticket" . The cruise seems to be designed to get you on board then to sell sell.it would not be to bad , but wine and drink prices were over the top compared to the quality. We just bought ashore our wine and had Pre dinner drinks in our cabin. We know a lot of other Cruise lines have adopted the same strategy but were disappointed that on recommendations that Winstar would be different. Not so.

The Captain was a delight ,very friendly and always up for a chat and an update. However the Cruise Director got the nickname among the passengers as" motor mouth" .Always on the sell and have I got a deal for you!

Cabin Review

Oceanview Stateroom

Cabin A

A nice Cabin that has been upgraded in refurbishment . A good sized bathroom but Cabin very noisy from engine room. We had to buy ear plugs ashore to get some sleep at night.
