The Viking River Cruise from Amsterdam to Basel (Rhine Getaway) was a wonderful trip. The ship is beautiful, well kept, the food was excellent and the staff was superb. We enjoyed each port and the excursions that Viking provided were excellent.
Our Veranda room was more than adequate in size and the balcony was spacious. We had more than enough room to unpack everything and the bathroom was pretty roomy for a cruise ship. We never felt crowded in our own room.
The public spaces on the ship were very well kept, clean and comfortable. There is a large lounge with a piano player/singer every night. The staff even entertained us a couple of times. Our ship had 187 cruisers on board but we never felt crowded .
The dining room was nice and comfortable. Food was exceptional, wine and beer available at no charge every lunch and dinner. You could eat in the dining room or on the terrace.
The ports and shore excursions were all great places to visit. The excursions that Viking provided at each port were great. The optional excursions were also great. Each excursion had a local guide and we all had our own listening devices.
We went as a group of 10 adults and all of us would love to go on another Viking Cruise!
Cabin was room with enough space to unpack and move around. Veranda was nice to be able to walk out on and watch the scenery go by.

Went into different shops to get food to sample with wine later in the tour. Later also tasted flambe, pizza and fruit. A fun day full of walking and eating!View All undefined undefined Reviews
