Europe is incredibly hot and crowded in the summer, although still crowded for this trip. Did notice a drop in service level compared to prior Windstar cruises. Looks like they are pinching pennies in certain areas. Definitely less focus on customer service from corporate side. Nice to travel with smaller groups, but don't fall for "travel in private yacht style". Excursions are very pricey and still bus group travel (with all the inefficiencies that entails. If you are the person who is always late, yeah, they will wait for you as you waste everyone else's time, so I guess it's your private yacht and not mine). Don't really see the value for the money when nothing is organized for my convenience. I understand compromise, but why market "private yacht style" when guests have little to no input on scheduling. And, be prepared for some nickel and dimeing on top of the already peak pricing. Won't bother with them again. Exclusive private event was a substantial step down from prior cruises.
Cabins are spacious, but service level was less than on previous cruises. Like having a door to open for fresh air.
Took a lovely excursion but meant no time to actually visit Rovinj. This is where the "private yacht style" falls flat. Timing of excursions and ports didn't always make sense, but they really try to sell the expensive excursions as not to be missed.
I just enjoyed doing my own wander around Kotor. Interesting small walled city.
Dubrovnik itself is a great place to wander. "Exclusive" Windstar event was underwhelming after previous cruises. Dancers and musicians were fantastic, but food and venue completely underwhelming.
