First time on Royal (several on Disney) so I was interested to see how it would compare. Overall it was a nice cruise. The entertainment in the theaters wasn't great. The comedian the first night was funny but IMO the singing and dancing was cheesy. The live music in the promenade area was fun to listen to. Cabin was fine - clean with a great room steward. Was sailing with a large group so we had several serving teams for dinner but they were fine. Was a little disappointed in the food quality at dinner time. Nothing great (did order the upgraded filet one night and it was really good). Buffet for lunch/breakfast was average. Missed having better food options poolside (compared to DCL) - the hot dog stand didn't even serve fries! Didn't go to any of the upcharge dining other than Johnny Rockets which was very good. Pools were nice and loved having the cup for soda refills. In a comparison with DCL I felt the food was not as good, the rooms were not quite as nice but the overall service was pretty close. The embarkation and disembarkation from the new terminal in Miami was amazing - win for RCL there for sure! For the price, a nice cruise!
Quiet cabin. Bed was comfortable and room was clean. Had Luiz for a room steward and he was great! The AC didn't get as cold as I would have liked but it was manageable. I didn't know until the last day how to adjust the shower pressure so watch for that. Convenient location as it was a short walk to the elevators/stairs at the end of the promenade.
New terminal A was amazing! Super easy to embark and disembark!
