I was really looking forward to our Thanksgiving weekend cruise. Having been a loyal Carnival cruiser, we decided to switch it up and go with a smaller Royal ship. Big mistake!

We are FREQUENT cruisers and have been on 25+ cruises so I know my way around a ship. This was by far the WORST. Everything from the cabin to the service was a disaster, and most of the food was dangerously under-cooked or inedible. The entertainment was barely noticeable and everyone seemed miserable working there-no smiling faces at all. The cruise director was barely visible and the staff was unorganized at best. The activities on the ship consisted of bingo and karaoke and that's about it really. The ship's photographers actually took many pictures of us where we had our eyes closed! The waiters forgot what we ordered and then said our desserts were coming even though we hadn't ordered any. Fake seafood in the ceviche---COME ON!!!! Lasagna tasted like it had some type of meat paste and like it came from a can of Chef Boyardee.

Ports of call in the Bahamas were good, but there were no announcements that we heard as to when we could actually get off the ship. When diembarking there was no one to assist guests with where they were going and many people were confused. This is a real Skipper Gilligan!

Cabin Review

Interior

Cabin 6V

Cabin: Cabin 8085 is an inside cabin. The closet was blocked by a chair that could not be moved and did not shut. You could not really access the drawers inside this closet and the shower was the smallest of any ship I've been on. The decor was old and tired and the beds were hard and you could actually feel the metal against your back. The cabin actually had some trash in it when we got there and I don't think they vacuumed it very much at all.
